Hotel Preview: Raffles Istanbul

City Raffles Istanbul

There are several luxury hotels we already stayed at, but there are many more we did not have the chance to visit yet. Anyways, we got many on our itinerary already. In a new section on our blog we look at recently opened or renovated hotels that will most likely be worth a visit. Today we start with the Raffles Istanbul which just opened three days ago.

Istanbul offers many luxury retreats. Since September 1, the Raffles Istanbul is part of the club of the best hotels in the city. The hotel offers 132 guest rooms and 49 suites in total. All rooms are designed in a classic as well as in a modern style, which most guests who stay at Raffles hotels more often already know.

A very positive aspect of the new hotel in Istanbul is the size of the room. The “smallest” one offers at least 63 square meters, suites start at more than 100 square meters. The view of most rooms is “breathtaking”, according to the hoteliers. Due to being located in Besiktas near a park and close to the Bosporus, it sounds very realistic.

Seven options for drinks and food

To make all kinds of guest happy, the Raffles Istanbul offers several options for enjoying a lovely dinner or a good lunch. The main restaurant is called “Rocca”. It offers traditional Mediterranean cuisine with a “Turkish influence”. With “Arola”, the Raffles also has a Spanish restaurant. Moreover, there is the Pool Bar and Grill which offers several dishes at poolside.

If you want to have a drink, you may choose between the Long Bar, the Writers Bar, the Pool Bar and Lounge 6, a place with a cozy atmosphere as well as live music. Light meals and snacks are also available. Of course, it is also possible to have lunch, dinner or any other meal in the room.

High-quality SPA at Raffles Istanbul

Not only for dining but also for “chilling” several options are offered. The SPA does not only offer massages and other treatments, there is also “a choice of pools” and everything else you may need to come down.

That means the hotel offers saunas, hammams as well as steam bathes. Moreover, a relaxation room is provided, so you can enjoy reading a book or just go for a power-nap. If you don’t like to spend your time with others, the room itself does offer a big bathroom. You may also enjoy some time in the bathtub to forget about the stressful life.

Perfectly located in Besiktas

The Raffles itself already looks very promising, but the location seems to be even more awesome. The hotel is not right in the center of the vibrant city but in a nice and quite neighborhood. Besiktas, the part of the city where the hotel is located, offers several touristic hot spots and is known to be one of the most exclusive parts of Istanbul. Guests on a leisure travel will find the Bosporus just minutes away on foot.

Moreover, the Akaretler Street, which is known for its exclusive boutiques, as well as the well-known Dolmabahce Palace, are just around. Overall, it feels like the Raffles may be able to set a new standard for luxury in Istanbul. Be sure to visit the hotel when you step-by but don’t forget that there are several other amazing hotels in Istanbul as well. Anyways, you’ll hear more of the Raffles in the future. At the latest as soon as we review this luxury hotel.
