Hotel Preview: The Hermitage Hotel Jakarta

Jakarta is one of the boomtowns in South-East-Asia. That means that several hotels were built in the last years. One of these is The Hermitage Jakarta, a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. The hotel opened just months ago. As we are visiting Jakarta in some days, we feel like it is time to write a hotel preview about this extraordinary place.

Searching for a hotel in Jakarta is not really difficult, what is difficult is to find the perfect place in the capital of Indonesia. All major chains have a flagship hotel in Jakarta. You may find ultra-luxury hotels like the Four Seasons or the Mandarin Oriental, but also some cheaper luxury choices like the DoubleTree by Hilton.

Due to my membership at Leaders Club, I’ll definitely spend a night in a new hotel, which opened just months ago: The Hermitage Jakarta. The hotel offers rooms starting with a size of 40 square meters, a pool and high quality gastronomy.

Modern decor and huge rooms

Jakarta has a colonial history, a fact that plays an important role at The Hermitage Hotel Jakarta. It combines traditional elements with state-of-the-art technique and a perfect interior. The beds look really promising, the size of the rooms, starting with 40 square meters for the Deluxe Room, is really nice as well.

Every room type is individual, so you may choose to have a suite that is a little bigger and offers a large living room, or you go for a Deluxe Room that is cheaper and focuses on the bed and working area. In terms of the bathroom, every room looks really promising.

The Deluxe Room for example features an open bathroom with a glass wall. Light in the bathroom is guaranteed.

Chilling at the The Hermitage Jakarta

The Hermitage Hotel Jakarta is not only known for its nice rooms, but also for the stunning Rooftop Pool that is located on the 9th floor. Apart from amazing views over the Mentang District and the skyline of Jakarta, the place is also amazing for just chilling out after a long day of sightseeing, shopping or business.

The pool offers fair 50 square meters and is a so-called infinity pool. After having an enjoyable swim, guests may also relax on one of the loungers around the pool. Moreover, there is a pool bar where snacks and drinks are offered. Also, there is a gym with state-of-the-art equipment that may be used for a little workout.

Dining from casual to elegant

As most good hotels, The Hermitage Hotel Jakarta offers a choice of different restaurants and bars. Guests may either choose the elegant L’Avenue restaurant which is named the main restaurant of the hotel. It offers French cuisine with an international touch. The chef, Luis Guillermo Varela Mata, is known for his love for Gallic specialties, so if you are looking for European food in Indonesia, you should definitely try the L’Avenue restaurant. But that’s not everything offered at The Hermitage Hotel.

You may also enjoy a way more casual atmosphere at the Courtyard Café in the inner courtyard or the named pool bar on the rooftop level. For small dishes and drinks, guests may also choose to have a sit in the lobby area. Overall, The Hermitage Hotel in Jakarta seems to be a perfect choice for guests that love the colonial flair. We’ll stay at the hotel soon, so we’ll let you know if the experience itself is as good as the pictures.
