    • Hey Jessica, I can definitely recommend the city for a break. It’s a little cold here in Winter times, but the city has some amazing Xmas markets. Apart from that, you may also enjoy a good hotel for a decent price as many hotels are cheaper in Winter. If you are looking for something to do, there is a lot, even in Winter. Have you ever been to Berlin? If not, I can give you some tips what to visit 🙂

      • Thanks so much for your advice, I am really keen to visit Berlin for a winter Xmas market break! May be able to try and squeeze in a 2night stay in December although I don’t think 2 nights would be enough?! Could you please tell me what the main landmarks/tourist attractions are in the city? Look forward to hearing back from you when you have a min! 🙂

      • Well, I’ve been to Berlin about ten times overall and I’ve not seen everything yet, but Berlin is enjoyable every single day, so if you only got two days, it will be an awesome experience nevertheless!

The most important sight to visit is definitely the Brandenburger Tor. When there, you may also enjoy a walk “Unter den Linden”, a beautiful boulevard with many shops. Very close to the Brandenburger Tor there is also the “Regierungsviertel” where you’ll see the “Reichstag”and many more governmental buildings! Be sure to have a look at the new train station “Hauptbahnhof” as well. The architecture is stunning! Apart from that you may enjoy visiting the former “East Berlin”. The train station “Alexanderplatz” is a good spot to walk around and get a feeling about how living in the DDR must have been like.

For shopping, you may consider the area around “Bahnhof Zoo”. You’ll find the “Kurfürstendamm” and the “Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche” nearby. Also, there are many big malls like the well known “KaDeWe” very close. Not to forget about the awesome zoo that also is in this area.

Enough for two days? I could go on and on! 😀

      • Wow sounds amazing, whats that big landmark called in the centre of Berlin, the Brandenberg gate i think it is? Is that easy to find and close to everything else? And is the Xmas markets in the centre? I would love to visit I think there would be loads to do and it would be a brilliant city break! I have been told by friends that have been that the weather is very cold in the December months though so I can imagine it gets freezing! Must make a lovely atmosphere though, and the zoo sounds brilliant! Thanks so much for all your help, I will let you know as soon as I have made a booking! 🙂
