When travelling to Prague, you usually have a huge choice of luxury hotels for a nice stay. I decided to stay at Le Palais Prague, a little boutique hotel that, by the time, was a member of the Leading Hotels of the World. I enjoyed my stay, but I have to admit that I would try another hotel next time. Why? Because everything was a little too small in my opinion.
Prague is unquestionable a nice city. Tradition and a nice mentality make the capital of the Czech Republic one of the most beloved destinations for European travelers.
Also, the city is known for fair prices that make luxury hotels affordable for a broad range of people. When I visited Prague, I opted for “Le Palais Prague”. The hotel is located in walking distance to the city center.
Anyway, there are many five star hotels in Prague that have a better location. When staying at Le Palais, you’ll need to plan 15 to 30 minutes for every walk to the center.
Connection by public transportation or taxi is faster, but comes with a little price. Yet, the location got a huge advantage: It is very calm as there is neither a big street nearby nor are there any party spots in the area.
Even though I was upgraded to a deluxe room, I was of the opinion that the rooms are not really spacious. Especially considering the location some minutes away from the city, I expected bigger rooms.
Nevertheless, the room was really cozy. As I travelled on my own, the size didn’t matter too much, but with a companion, I would have felt a little cramped. The television was too small, too. What was nice though was the welcome present that consisted of some sweets and a bottle of wine.
With that offered, you were stocked for a nice television evening on arrival. Not too bad in a cozy room. Sadly, the view was a bad one. As soon as I woke up the other day, I saw that the room was right in front of the parking lot. Not any loud, but not nice, too.
What was more likely in the morning was the fact that the hotel did arrange my newspaper of choice. With a good feeling, I went to breakfast and indulged myself with the treats offered. The breakfast buffet was a little small as well, but there were not many guests either.
Eggs as well as freshly squeezed juices (only on request) can be ordered to the table. The quality of the food was good. So was the service. All waiters tried their best to make my time at breakfast an enjoyable one. As I didn’t have dinner at the hotel, I can’t judge the “meal experience” at Le Palais, but I bet it’s a good one as well.
My stay in Prague was a city trip at which I didn’t spend much time in the hotel. That meant I did not have too much time to check out the spa. Anyway, I’d recommend to visit it at least once. It’s a little small, but really cozy.
A nice and enjoyable place to enjoy after a long working day. What I can judge better is the level of service and the request compliance at the hotel. All employees were utterly friendly and tried everything to make my stay as good as anyhow possible. The facilities may not step up to other luxury hotels in Prague, but the staff definitely does.
So, will I return to Le Palais? Maybe. The rooms are too small in my opinion, the interior too plushly. Anyway, if you like the design, you’ll also like your stay at Le Palais!
