Lounge Review: Etihad Arrivals Lounge Abu Dhabi

Arriving in Abu Dhabi as a Business or First Class passenger of Etihad Airways or one of its partners is kind of a unique experience. You are allowed to enter the little Arrivals Lounge that offers everything you may need for an enjoyable start into the day. The service is almost perfect, the food is extremely tasty. Every washroom is beautifully equipped. A lounge you just don’t want to leave.

When we arrived in Abu Dhabi, we didn’t expect something special of a Welcome Lounge. I mean, it’s just a place to sip a drink before leaving for the city. The Etihad Arrivals Lounge made this is a little harder as the only word that’s fitting for the lounge is “welcoming”.

We were shown around by a very kind employee and were served food and drinks by an overly friendly waiter. The service experience was one of the best I’ve ever had – better than in most luxury hotels.

Buffet at the Etihad Arrivals Lounge

At first, I had the feeling that the buffet and the lounge both were a little small.

But considering that Etihad Airways got a lot of connection traffic, the size seemed to be okay. In fact, there were only a few people sitting in the lounge, so there was enough space to spread out.

The buffet was arranged on a single table, but when having a closer look at it, I saw that the choice was surprisingly rich. As it was time for breakfast, they had freshly squeezed juices, a choice of yoghurts, fruits and several sandwiches which all looked amazing on the buffet.

Even though the buffet is not as rich as the ones in the connection lounges, it was great nevertheless. The waiter moreover was so attentive that he always asked me to bring my plate to the table. An amazing service experience.

Washrooms at the Etihad Arrivlas Lounge

As the Welcome Lounge is a little small, there is no Spa like in the two other lounges at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. Anyway, Etihad Airways offers wet shave services in the Arrivals Lounge. A shave by a professional barber is complimentary. The washrooms are equipped with showers and high quality amenities.

A fresh start into the day after a long flight is guaranteed due to this. All in all, I can fully recommend the Arrivals Lounge of Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi. The buffet is perfectly adequate, the seating is really comfortable, the washrooms are amazing and the service is excellent.

Curious what the world of lounges has to offer in comparison?

  3. This looks awesome! I am flying with Etihad into Abu Dhabi in March but with an economy ticket, so this is making me very jealous!! But I got such a good deal so I am not too bummed!

    • Etihad is a joy in Economy Class as well. I tried the Eco from AUH to Zurich last year. It was a great experience as well, especially because the food was good. So, even without arrivals lounge, you’ll definitely enjoy it 🙂

    • That’s absolutely right. I’ve been only flying Qatar and Etihad yet, but both were amazing in Business Class as well as in Economy Class. Moreover, the lounges were better than everything I’ve seen in Europe so far. I’m looking forward to your review of the new QR Lounge. It looks amazing from the pictures!
