Hotel Preview: W Beijing Chang’an

Modern design and a new kind of boutique style hotel: The W Beijing looks like a perfect addition to the W chain. The location in the heart of Beijing is great, but the huge hotel with its 349 rooms may seem a little impersonal at times. Surprisingly, the reviews of the hotel are pretty streaky at the moment. Apart from that, the newly opened W Beijing looks like a stunning place in the heart of the city.

As Beijing is a really huge city, it’s tough to find a perfectly located hotel. The W Beijing may be a really good choice for tourists as it is located only a few steps away from the Forbidden City. Also, the Silk Market and the Tiananmen Square are just around the corner.

Anyway, the location is quiet at the same time as the W Beijing Chang’an is located in the diplomatic district of Beijing, yet not too far away from several good restaurants and the amazing nightlife of Beijing.

Ultramodern rooms at the W Beijing

The W chain is known for extremely stylish design. So, it’s not any surprising that the W Beijing got rooms which do not only look modern, but ultramodern. The design is unique in every regard and the room is fully equipped with modern furniture everywhere. Guests will not only love the design, but also the size of the rooms. Even the smallest room category called “Wonderful Room” offers 50 square meters.

So do the “Spectacular Rooms” that offer a more decent view to enjoy the skyline of Beijing. Guests that need more space to spread out may decide to book a “Cool Corner Room” (60 square meters) or one of the marvelous suites of the hotel (78 to 100 square meters).

International, Chinese or just alcoholic

The W Beijing is not only an amazing hotel when it comes to rooms, but also offers an amazing choice of restaurants. In the international restaurant “The Kitchen Table”, guests of the hotel can enjoy breakfast, lunch buffet or à la carte dinner. Also, the Chinese restaurant “Yen” offering lunch and dinner is a nice alternative. If you are more likely to just grab a snack and enjoy an amazing cocktail, the W Beijing offers two bars: The “X 25” and the “W Lounge”, both opened till 2 am (X 25 is opened till 3 am on Friday and Saturday). Unquestionably, drinks and food in a stylish atmosphere can’t be enjoyed in a more unique fashion anywhere else in Beijing.

Fitness, Spa and a large indoor pool

Guests of the W Beijing Chang’an may not only enjoy amazing food and great rooms, but also the spa area, the gym or the large indoor pool. The latter one is heated and is big enough for lap swimmers as well. There may be no better place to enjoy oneself after a long working day than in the “AWAY Spa” or the “WET Indoor Pool”.

Modern, luxurious, but pricey

Spending a day in a luxury hotel is never cheap, but the W Beijing is one of the most expensive hotels in the city nevertheless.
