The St. Regis Chengdu is not the first five star hotel in the booming Chinese metropolis. There are several five star hotels already, but the renowned St. Regis chain decided to try fighting for market shares in the luxury hotel industry in Chengdu nevertheless. The lowest category named “Deluxe Rooms” is extremely spacious, offering guests 65 square meters to spread out. All materials in the room are of highest quality.

They are including a 46 inch flat screen TV, a Bose sound system, a rain shower and designer furniture. Whoever needs more may opt for a “Grand Deluxe Room” that is offering an even better view.

The different suites at the St. Regis Chengdu got 110 square meters (Lafayette Suites) to 325 square meters (Presidential Suite).

The only down side may the price as the St. Regis is one of the most expensive hotels in the city. Room rates start at 1.390 CNY (~ 195 Euro / ~ 225 US-Dollar) a night excluding breakfast and taxes.   1. We stayed at the St Regis in Bangkok. Im a huge fan of the Starwood brand of hotels, but there is something special about the Regis group.

    I had the best ever cup of tea at Bangkok, and our butler was fab helping us find the perfect sized box for a huge carving we had bought, but I did need to draw the line at having my cases unpacked, as it was the end of our trip. Maybe next time I’ll go at the beginning and I won’t mind my clean clothes being unpacked….

    • Sounds like a great experience! All the St. Regis I visited yet were absolutely stunning hotels (better than all other Starwood brands). I’d love to visit the property Bangkok one day as well, it looks really nice judging from the pictures on the website of the hotel!
