Hotel Preview: Battery Wharf Hotel Boston

The Battery Wharf Hotel Boston is one of the most interesting luxury hotels in Boston. Formerly a Fairmont Hotel and nowadays under new management, Boston’s only luxury hotel at the Waterfront offers stunning views from the rooms and the public areas. A restaurant with an incredible terrace and a huge spa complement the features of the chic Boston luxury hotel.

The last months were pretty tough for the Battery Wharf Hotel in Boston. After being managed by Fairmont for several years, the hotel was sold by the owner at the time the management contract ended.

Together with a partner, the Westmont Hospitality Group seized opportunity and bought the hotel. The new management instantly secured a membership in the renowned selection of The Leading Hotels of the World, marking a great start for the “new” Battery Wharf hotel.

Generously sized rooms and great views

The Battery Wharf Hotel does not only have a unique location, it also got the amazing opportunity to offer its guests spacious rooms. The standard category, called Deluxe, got 35 square meters (380 square feet) and is equipped with a rainforest shower and a luxury bed with high-quality linens.

This type of room is available with three different views. The harbor view that is also available when booking an Executive Room or a suite is unquestionably the most stunning one.

As the hotel is located at the waterfront, the views are all undisclosed which makes spending time in the room in an absolutely enjoyable experience. Booking an Executive Room (be aware that some of those are smaller than the standard category) or an Executive Suite will grant you lounge access with snacks and drinks served all-day.

Cozy atmosphere in a casual restaurant

It’s unquestionably true that the Battery Wharf Hotel in Boston is a unique hotel. One feature that makes the hotel that special is the fact that there is no stiff restaurant like in other luxury hotels. Instead, the Battery Wharf Hotel got a combined restaurant and bar named Aragosta Bar & Bistro. There is a cozy and casual atmosphere with an Italian touch. Enjoying pasta and pizza with a view of the waterfront never was so easy in Boston.

In summer, you may also enjoy food on The Terrace, where also breakfast is served for hotel guests when the weather allows to sit outside. Last but not least, you may enjoy the Battery Lounge, the lively bar and lounge at the lobby of the Battery Wharf Hotel.

Relaxation at the Battery Wharf Hotel

Another thing that makes the Battery Wharf Hotel Boston really special is the fact that the hotel got a generously sized spa area. After a long day sightseeing in the North End or the nearby city center, only few things are as enjoyable as a good massage or some rest in the hammam.

Quiet atmosphere, relaxing illumination and great staff. The exhale Spa located at the Battery Wharf Hotel was named best Day Spa in Boston by the readers of Boston magazine for a reason. Another point worth a mention is the fully equipped gym that invites guests of the hotel to start the day with a workout with modern machines.

Setting new standards for a fair price

Boston is everything but a cheap city when it comes to luxury hotels. The Battery Wharf Hotel sets new standards when it comes to a tranquil and casual atmosphere with an amazing location, yet it does not in terms of prices.

Even though the Battery Wharf Hotel unquestionably is not a “cheap” hotel by any means, the prices are pretty fair compared to other luxury hotels in Boston. Due to that, we decided to spend a night at the Battery Wharf Hotel on our America trip in March!
