Hotel Preview: Westin Bahrain City Center
Bahrain has rarely been in the spotlight, while cities like Doha, Dubai or Abu Dhabi are rising stars in Arabia. Due to that, there are only a few luxury hotels in the city. However, many hotel chains are making a lot of effort to gain market share in the growing business market of Bahrain. In the capital Manama, the new Westin Bahrain City Center with its ideal location may be the new hot spot for travelers that are about to spend some time in Bahrain.
Starwood is known to be a company that has a foot in every market. With the Sheraton Bahrain and the Le Méridien Bahrain, there are already two five star hotels that are part of Starwood in the city, but the new Westin Bahrain City Center that was refurnished after a takeover will definitely set new standards.
Located in the heart of booming Manama, the Westin combines a leisure experience with all the business facilities international travelers are looking for. Just steps away from Bahrain’s most popular retail destination, the Westin Bahrain City Center is also the perfect location for shopping.
Modern and generously sized rooms
The Westin Heavenly Bed is the main element of each and every Westin room all over the world. Not any surprisingly, even the lowest room category at the Westin Bahrain City Center is equipped with one of these.
The 36 square meters (388 square feet) large room also offers a modern and relatively large bathroom and complimentary Wi-Fi. Pretty much the same room is also available on the Executive Level, offering access to the Westin Executive Club Lounge.
If you are looking for more space, you may opt for either a Westin Suite, a Diamond Suite or a Royal Suite. All suites are generously sized and offer access to the Westin Executive Club Lounge.
The design of all rooms at the Westin Bahrain City Center is homely and modern at the same time. A great place to relax for sure.
Casual and healthy dining at the Westin Bahrain
The Westin brand is known for always offering its guest a huge choice of different healthy dishes in the hotel’s restaurants as well as on the room service menu. This approach is also followed by the new Westin Bahrain City Center.
The main restaurant named “Saveur” offers healthy European cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The boutique café “T-Spoon” focuses on finest teas and coffee and “Nasmat – Lounge & Restaurant” offers Mediterranean food in a healthy and delicious way.
When it comes to great drinks, the Westin Bahrain also got a lot to offer. Be it the opulent “Boudoir” bar or the more casual “Mezzanine Lounge” – at the Westin Bahrain City Center, you’ll find the perfect spot for some quality time after dinner for sure!
Relaxing by the pool or enjoying a treatment
Even though the Westin Bahrain City Center is mainly aiming to business guests, there is also a large Spa with a large outdoor pool and the biggest Hammam in Bahrain.
These facilities may be used free of charge, while treatments are for an extra charge. Even though treatments at the Westin Bahrain are everything but cheap, the experience may be a great one as all treatment rooms meet modern standards.
The gym of the Westin Bahrain is equipped with state-of-the-art machines and is big enough to suit a dozen guests at the same time. For a city hotel, the facilities offered are very good!
A new gem with high prices
Well, so should you stay at the Westin Bahrain City Center or not? You should, but be aware that the prices are a little higher than the ones of many other luxury hotels in Bahrain. While other hotels in the segment got rooms available starting from 50 BHD (~ 125 Euro / 135 US-Dollar), the lowest room category at the Westin Bahrain costs 80 BHD (~ 195 Euro / ~ 210 US-Dollar) on selected dates.
The best rate available for rooms with lounge access is 95 BHD (~ 235 Euro / 250 US-Dollar). Not cheap in any means, but still a little cheaper than the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain. Especially for Starwood Preferred guests, the Westin Bahrain may be a very interesting choice for the next stay in Bahrain!
