Even though the big hotel boom in India is over, there are some luxury hotel openings each year that are worth mentioning. One of those is the opening of the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, the second JW Marriott Hotel in Mumbai. Even though the more central located hotel has been refurbished lately, nothing beats the modern facilities and the amazing design of the JW Marriott Sahar. A real gem close to the airport.
India is changing, so is Mumbai. With business districts growing in several parts of the cities, a central location of a hotel is no longer of big importance. The JW Marriott Sahar that is located close to the airport and yet not far from the city center is part of a booming area that’s getting more and more important.

However, the main reason to stay at the JW Marriott Sahar may either be the enjoyment of the opulent guest rooms or the chilled atmosphere at the Outdoor Pool.
The new JW Marriott in Mumbai makes a pleasant contrast to the older one when it comes to the rooms.

Even the smallest room category got 38 square meters (409 square feet) and offers enough space for a large King Bed (or two Twin Beds) as well as a large bathroom with a detached shower and all the luxury a marble bathroom has to offer.
Deluxe Rooms are also available with Twin Beds (Image Source: JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar / marriott.com)
Some of these Deluxe Rooms also got a nice balcony that’s especially amazing for watching the lively city. As most Marriott hotels, the JW Marriott also got an Executive Lounge called Concierge Lounge.

All room categories starting from the Concierge Room (a Deluxe Room on a higher floor) including all suites got access to the lounge with complimentary snacks and beverages.
The new and modern standards of a luxury hotel in the 21th century can not only be seen when talking about the rooms of the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, but also when it comes to dining.
While old five star hotels usually have several different restaurants, the selected options at the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar only include Romano’s, an Italian restaurant offering Mediterranean flavors, and the JW Café, a casual restaurant with local and international delights on the menu.
Moreover, guests of the new JW Marriott in Mumbai may enjoy to have a sit in the JW Lounge, a café in the day and a bar in the evening. Last but not least, the hotel’s deli, the JW Baking Company, is worth a mention. A classic pastry shop with freshly baked breads and handmade pastries – something very special for a luxury hotel.
While the other JW Marriott in the city offers a large Spa and pool area, the JW Marriott Sahar tries another way yet again.

With only one outdoor pool and a large gym with modern machines, the atmosphere is way more intimate. However, the pool is large enough for laps and the gym is big enough that a dozen of people can workout at the same time.

Moreover, there are several loungers located around the pool, all inviting guests to relax after a long working, sightseeing or shopping day.
The new JW Marriott Sahar definitely is something else than old India. Ultra-modern rooms, casual atmosphere in the restaurants and relaxed enjoyment at the pool. The management thought about all needs of vivid travelers of the 21th century.

Even though the JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar may be something totally different compared to its sister hotel in the city, it’s a real gem that will definitely be booked by many travelers who come to India. There are many reasons why you should also stay at the JW Marriott Sahar – especially when you love modernity and luxury!
