Even though many passengers are departing and landing at the Berlin Tegel Airport each day, there is not much choice when it comes to lounges. As an oneworld frequent flyer, you may only access the British Airways Terraces Lounge. This one, however, offers a pretty solid experience. Yet, it’s worth a mention that not everything went smooth when we visited the lounge.

Usually, we use the Air France Lounge at Berlin Tegel Airport as this one has great employees and a good breakfast buffet.
However, we decided to also give the British Airways Terraces Lounge located right underneath the Air France Lounge a shot.
As the lounge is a little bigger, it seems to be more spacious. There are different areas for lounging, working and smoking.
The seating provided is not luxurious, but comfortable enough. The interior may not be modern, but it is absolutely sufficient.
We visited the British Airways Terraces Lounge at the Berlin Airport in the evening, which meant that we were expecting at least one warm dish.
Sadly, the Terraces Lounge in Berlin doesn’t offer warm food. The lounge only provides sandwiches, fruits and some candy. You may also grab chips that can accompany your drink.
The choice of alcohol is surprisingly good. The British Airways lounge is stocked with many premium liquors and a choice of different red and white wines.
Juices to mix are also available. Also, the good choice of soft drinks (all in fridges) is worth a mention.
What was very good in my opinion was the choice of books, magazines and newspapers. All newspapers are daily replenished and the choice is absolutely sufficient.
The magazines include a lot of airline specific papers like board magazines or board shop guides. Only few known German or International magazines are available.
However, we did like something else: The little bookshelf that can be found in the business area. A very good idea that makes spending time in the lounge way more enjoyable.
That’s especially true when considering the fact that the WiFi is working very bad. The speed was low and the connection broke several times when we visited.
Summed up, the British Airways Lounge at Berlin Tegel Airport is nothing to write home about. The only thing really good is the choice of drinks and alcohol. The service is okay (from time to time dirty dishes are collected) and the taste of the food is fine as well.
However, the limited choice and the bad WiFi are two points that may deter you from trying the British Airways Terraces Lounge. All in all, the lounge is okay for a few minutes before departure, but nothing to plan extra time for.
Curious what the world of lounges has to offer in comparison?
I’ve never checked out the lounges, but i’ve always had a good experience flying through Berlin!
Very interesting. In my opinion, there are several better hubs (even though Berlin is my home airport). But it’s great to hear that you did never have any problems 🙂
