At the Luxembourg Findel Airport, there is no choice when it comes to lounges. Passengers departing from Luxembourg may only visit The Lounge by Luxair. Yet, this is no problem at all as the lounge offers everything demanding passengers may be looking for: Great views of the tarmac, comfortable seating, a brilliant choice of newspapers and magazines and a buffet with fresh and tasty food.
If you are departing from Luxembourg, you are a lucky person. The modern and convenient airport makes flying very enjoyable. That’s especially true when you got the pleasure to check out The Lounge by Luxair.
Open for passengers flying Business Class, holding a frequent flyer membership or a membership with Priority Pass, The Lounge by Luxair tries its best to satisfy its customers.
As we’ve been to many lounges lately, we have to admit that The Lounge by Luxair was definitely one of the best ones.
Usually, we do not really care about seating in a lounge. Basically, all offer leather chairs in one or another arrangement.
However, The Lounge by Luxair in Luxembourg is really outstanding in this regard. There are several different seating arrangements that are all (at least the ones we tried) very comfortable.
A nice addition to the normal lounge chairs are the bed-like relaxation seats that make reading or watching television on a tablet extremely enjoyable. Another great aspect worth a mention is the amazing view The Lounge by Luxair offers.
Even though the Luxembourg Findel Airport is rarely busy, it is enjoyable to watch the airplanes passing by (we even watched a Boeing 747 landing in Luxembourg) from the floor to ceiling windows of the lounge.
Some lounges offer warm dishes, others don’t. The Lounge by Luxair in Luxembourg is one of the latter, but got a great buffet nevertheless.
We really enjoyed the cold cuts and other fresh items that were available at all times. The choice of hearty and sweet dishes was large enough to find something of your taste, while not being too much to try everything at the same time.
The food available included cold cuts, cheese, bread, cakes, croissants and some soups you may prepare with hot water by yourself.
Besides, there was a large selection of cold and hot drinks as well as a choice of premium liquor and other alcoholic beverages.
Entertainment is something that was not fully satisfying at The Lounge by Luxair in Luxembourg. There was a great choice of newspapers in several different languages.
Especially for French, German and English speaking guests, there was a wide range of different papers which I’d love to also see in other lounges. However, apart from that, there were only some magazines available. There was no television that was mainly for entertainment and there was no area with tables or computers as well.
The so-so entertainment in the lounge in Luxembourg may not lower the good overall impression of the lounge. The service was friendly and quick and all areas including the en-suite restrooms were very clean and modern.
The different seating options, all in good condition, make relaxing pretty easy. That combined with the great tarmac view makes spending time in the lounge very pleasant.
Last but not least, the buffet, while not offering any hot dishes, satisfied us due to the fresh and tasty options. All in all, The Lounge by Luxair is one I’d definitely come back to!
