The Langham Chicago is one of the landmark properties of The Langham Hotels. Located in one of the best parts of Chicago, the hotel boosts ultra-large rooms that offer every kind of luxury. We had the pleasure to stay at The Langham Chicago for one night when we visited Chicago. To be quite honest: I was looking forward to writing this hotel review of The Langham Chicago!

Arriving from a long haul flight which took more than 10 hours, we were very tired when checking-in at The Langham Chicago.
However, it was still early afternoon. Due to that, we decided to explore Chicago before really checking out the hotel. That made us very happy some hours later as we had the pleasure to have a closer look at our room at The Langham Chicago.
Even though it was just a Classic Room, we were flashed by the elegance and luxury it offered.
In the last couple of years, we’ve written many hotel reviews, but there were few hotel rooms that were as amazing as the one at The Langham Chicago.
Considering it was the lowest room category, we were even more amazed. The Classic Room at The Langham Chicago offers all the luxury you may think of: A large King Bed, floor-to-ceiling windows, luxurious interior and an incredible bathroom.
The latter one included a detached toilet as well as a detached shower and a deep soaking tub. Additionally, the design was incredible. The interior at The Langham Chicago gives you a very homely feeling due to the nice selection of colors.
Nevertheless, I liked the bathroom the most. Wherever you can’t find a mirror, you’ll find fine marble that makes the bathroom a real paradise.
I could honestly write a whole hotel review just about the rooms at The Langham Chicago as these topped the ones we enjoyed at other first class luxury hotels like the Mandarin Oriental Jakarta or The Knickerbocker in New York City.
However, it is the right time to also focus on some amenities that awaited us in the room. Not only did The Langham Chicago offer high quality Spa products, but these also were enormously large as well.
Not to forget about other bathroom items like a tooth brush or a shaving kit. Another great item we found when having a closer look was a Nespresso machine with which you can enjoy your daily morning coffee in your room – complimentary for sure.
Also, the fully stocked minibar with many hand-picked items was very convenient. Not very surprisingly, The Langham Chicago did also offer plush bathrobes and slippers.
Well, as I already mentioned, we were pretty tired when arriving at The Langham Chicago. However, we decided to check out the gym and the pool for a little workout nevertheless. Even though I was a little too tired for a long workout, I enjoyed that the gym did offer all the modern machines you may look for.
Additionally, all kinds of free weights are available. So are towels, water and earphones. For a more relaxed training, you may decide to enjoy the pool which is large enough for labs, but a pretty small one when a lot of guests are present.
However, there are only a few loungers and the atmosphere is not really relaxing in our opinion. There are positive aspects nevertheless about relaxation at the Spa as well.
There is a little area with sofas and a buffet consisting of dried fruits, nuts, water and tea that you may use complimentary. Also, the whirlpool right next to the pool is a very nice little treat.
Sadly, we did neither have the chance to enjoy breakfast nor dinner at The Langham Chicago. However, this does not lower our overall impression of the hotel. We especially enjoyed the amazing room which sets new standards for upcoming hotel reviews. The included amenities were lovely as well.
For sport fans, the gym and the pool area are also worth a recommendation. However, the fact that the atmosphere doesn’t really invite for relaxation was a little downer. When booking a treatment, you may use the Spa a little more than we did. The staff also did a great job with giving recommendations, granting late check out and just being friendly.
To conclude this hotel review, we have to admit that we would definitely come back to The Langham Chicago even though it is one of the most expensive hotels in the city. We’d recommend you the same – it will be worth the money!

And it is! I love the coffee making facilities in-room. They are an amazing treat!
It looks brilliant! I particularly like the complimentary buffet in the spa. What a lovely touch. It’s unique things like that that make a hotel special!
