IDW Esperanza Lounge Vilnius is the only lounge available on the small airport. Access is granted for frequent flyers of selected airlines, Business class passengers as well as holders of Priority Pass. We couldn’t resist to give the lounge a shot and were satisfied with the comfort of seating and the relaxing atmosphere. However, the food offered was just average.
When departing from Vilnius, the choices to spend your time before departure are very limited. There are neither many shops nor many dining outlets. Sounds like the perfect airport to spend time in an airport lounge.
With IDW Esperanza Lounge Vilnius being the only choice, we decided to try it. We didn’t expect a lot as the lounge is not operated by an airline, but by a third party company instead.
It’s kind of a funny circumstance that it’s actually a hotel operating IDW Esperanza Lounge Vilnius.
IDW Esperanza Lounge Vilnius made a very good impression on us upon entering. While not being very large, the lounge offers more than enough seats considering that there are not too many flights departing from Vilnius each day.
When entering, we were the only guests of IDW Esperanza Lounge.
Interestingly shaped chairs on small tables can be found next to the magazines and newspapers available, while more comfortable seating opportunities are available on the left side of the lounge.
We especially liked the large and comfortable leather loungers which had a view of a large wallpaper showing the actual IDW Esperanza Hotel close to Vilnius. The other armchairs were very large and comfortable as well. However, none of the seating opportunities was perfectly suitable for working.
Nevertheless, the atmosphere and the seating at IDW Esperanza Lounge Vilnius was very good even though there was only an inside window with views of the check-in area.
Recognizing that IDW Esperanza Lounge Vilnius is operated by a hotel made us think that the buffet would be better than average. Sadly, it isn’t.
When we entered IDW Esperanza Lounge there was nothing available than some fruits, biscuits, chips and a refrigerator with one packaged salad, a choice of different packaged sandwiches as well as some yogurts. The choice of alcohol and soft drinks was quite generous at the same time.
Strangely, only a few drinks were in the refrigerators with most being positioned on a desk. The taste and freshness of the salad and the sandwiches was very good, but we expected a little more anyway.
On the other hand, the food spread was not bad considering that IDW Esperanza Lounge is a third-party operated lounge with not very many guests every day.
With the large wallpapers and the relaxing chairs, IDW Esperanza Lounge Vilnius feels like a little vacation in the busy airport. With that in mind, you may forget about the fact that there are not many entertainment options. As there are no computers and televisions, you have to rely on reading materials.
Unfortunately, those are mainly Lithuanian. The few English choices are airline magazines. The Wi-Fi at IDW Esperanza Lounge Vilnius worked very well, but that may also be an inference of us being the only people spending time in the lounge.
IDW Esperanza absolutely makes you feel relaxed before boarding your plane. With the large wallpapers, intelligent lightening and comfortable chairs, the lounge is amazing for relaxing. Sadly, the entertainment options are very limited and the food spread is nothing to write home.
Nevertheless, you may enjoy a good time at IDW Esperanza Lounge with a drink and some relaxation before departing. We would definitely return to IDW Esperanza Lounge when flying from Vilnius again as the lounge is one of the better third party lounges in Europe!
