Le Méridien New Orleans reopened just a few months ago after a 29 million US-Dollar renovation. That said, it doesn’t surprise at all that the rooms nowadays look extremely stylish and modern. Moreover, all public areas got refurbished and shine in new light again. Last but not least, the rooftop pool with stunning views of New Orleans is worth checking out, too.
Le Méridien New Orleans is one of several Starwood Hotels in the city. However, checking out the recently renovated luxury hotel is absolutely worth it as it’s without any doubt a special place to stay in New Orleans. With 410 reimagined guest rooms, Le Méridien New Orleans is not only one of the most modern, but also one of the biggest hotels in the city.
After the extensive renovation, you shouldn’t be too sure that they won’t run out of rooms anyway. That’s especially true as the rooftop pool and the great dining facilities have attracted many guests since the re-opening.
With six room categories plus two accessible room types, Le Méridien New Orleans doesn’t offer its guests a wide range of different rooms to pay for.
However, there’s no need with the new design as even the Classic Guestrooms look stunning when it comes to the modern interior and the incredible large 55 Inch flat-screen television.
The only downer may be the size of the rooms which is between 26 and 28 square meters (275 to 301 square feet) for the three lowest categories which differ in terms of views and special amenities included.
Even the Executive Suites, Corner Suites and Luxury Suites are only slightly bigger than the normal rooms. Yet, it’s about the interior and the design which makes rooms at Le Méridien New Orleans that amazing!
It may seem a little strange that Le Méridien New Orleans just has a single restaurant to cater for the needs of the 410 rooms.
Yet, this is no real problem as “LMNO Restaurant” is not only large, but also offers very modern and though faster dining than comparable restaurants in other hotels. With a focus on signature dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner, LMNO Restaurant at Le Méridien New Orleans secured an important position in the ranking of the best restaurants of the city.
Even though LMNO Restaurant offers a wide range of cocktails, guests of Le Méridien New Orleans may also consider spending the evening at “Longitude 90” where several creative drinks and light snacks are available all day long.
While not actually located on the rooftop but rather on 4th floor, the “Rooftop Pool” of Le Méridien New Orleans is a known spot for those who want to enjoy some tranquil before or after a long day of work.
With several loungers available, there’s always a spot to rest at. For a more intimate feeling, guests of Le Méridien New Orleans may also rent one of the cabanas for a fee. If you are likely to start your day a little more active, you can enjoy complimentary access to the 24-hours operating gym of Le Méridien New Orleans.
Great views of New Orleans and refreshing water are included in the sportive experience at the newly renovated Starwood property.
Even though the facilities of Le Méridien New Orleans look stunning, there have been several mixed reviews lately. Considering that, the rates starting at 119 US-Dollar (~ 110 Euro) excluding taxes, services and breakfast don’t sound that amazing anymore.
That’s especially true taking into account that rates like these are only available on selected weekends, while Le Méridien New Orleans is generally way more expensive on weekdays. Flexible rates are only slightly more expensive, so the hotel may be a good choice for all those who like staying flexible when booking a hotel. Looking at the facilities, you can’t go wrong when getting a good price for the recently renovated Le Méridien New Orleans!
