The Istanbul EDITION is one of the first hotels of The EDITION collection by Ian Schrager and the renowned brand Marriott. With only four locations all over the world at the moment, all EDITION hotels are something utterly unique. The Istanbul EDITION is no exception with its large and ultra-modern guestrooms, the in-house Spa with a large swimming pool and a restaurant which offers cuisine on the highest level.
Something that’s special about The Istanbul EDITION is its size. While most luxury hotels in the Turkish boomtown are very large with hundreds of rooms, The Istanbul EDITION only has its 78 rooms including a large penthouse which boosts amazing views of the city.
Nevertheless, The Istanbul EDITION is not really a small hotel, it’s rather the enormous size of the rooms and the spacious public areas that make guests of The Istanbul EDITION feel like in a private home.
With 30 to 40 square meters (323 to 431 square feet), even the smallest room category at The Istanbul EDITION is one to die for. Not only are the rooms spacious, but also extremely modern with a stylish interior that sets new standards.
All rooms come with large Bang & Olufsen TV’s and iPod’s with a docking station to name just a few amazing amenities. Something else worth mentioning are the bathrooms which are separated from the room by a glass wall with privacy curtains. This allows daylight to brighten the bathroom.
Deluxe Rooms and Lofts, both even more spacious, offer a similar design experience as the Superior Room, but feel a bit more airy due to the increased size. Some Lofts even offer a terrace to breathe some fresh air!
As mentioned earlier, The Istanbul EDITION is not a very large hotel when it comes to the number of rooms. Due to that, it’s totally acceptable that the hotel has just one restaurant.
With the well-chosen name “Cipriani”, the gourmet restaurant at The Istanbul EDITION invites guests of the hotel to enjoy tasty dishes with an Italian influence. If you are in the mood for a light snack instead, the “Gold Bar” is the right location for you. Opened till the last guest leaves, the Gold Bar with its exotic atmosphere is renowned for its tasty drinks and comfortable seating.
Last but not least, the “Billionaire Club” by Flavio Briatore is worth a mention. The very special nightclub only opens on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 pm to 4 am, so be sure to book a stay on weekend!
Nestled in the basement of the hotel, the Spa of The Istanbul EDITION offers an intimate atmosphere in the heart of Istanbul. Even right at the pool, guests will feel the special attention that was taken to perfectly design every element at The Istanbul EDITION.
Swimming in the large swimming pool, working out in the gym or just chilling in one of the comfortable loungers is possible for hotel guests from 7 am to 10 pm. If you are looking for a treatment to complement a perfect stay at The Istanbul EDITION, the well-trained staff is for your assistance from 10 am to 9 pm every day of the week.
With most hotels in Istanbul being not very expensive, the prices of The Istanbul EDITION sound like music in the ears of everyone who wants to travel luxurious while not overpaying. Superior Rooms are available starting from 160 Euro (~ 175 US-Dollar) excluding taxes, but including breakfast for two people on a non-refundable basis.
The rates for Deluxe Rooms and Lofts start at 185 Euro (~ 205 US-Dollar) and 215 Euro (~ 240 US-Dollar) respectively. Taking into account that The Istanbul EDITION opened just a short time ago and the design is utterly amazing, you should definitely give it a try when traveling to Istanbul for the next time!
