Potsdam is located in the Southeast of Berlin. Even though one might think that all the spotlight shines on the capital of Germany, the city of Potsdam (click here for more information about Potsdam) proved to have some attractions which make the city unique all over the world. Thus, be sure to consider these top things to do and see for your next visit!
Sanssouci Palace is for what Potsdam is probably most famous for. Perfect harmony of nature and architecture make the castle grounds an ideal setting for time travel.
Not to forget about the huge gardens!
Not any surprisingly, Sanssouci Castle was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990.
The Chinese House is located in the gardens of Sanssouci Palace.
It has once been built to be a nice addition of decoration to the huge garden area of Frederick the Great.
Back in 1733, the quarter was planned and built by the Dutch builder Johann Boumann.
Nowadays, it is the biggest quarter in Dutch style not located in the Netherlands throughout Europe.
Potsdam is the capital of the federated state Brandenburg. Not any surprisingly you can find several interesting government buildings there.
In-between two arms of the Havel, the river flowing through the city of Potsdam, is the Freundschaftsinsel located.
Not that Potsdam has something like a real buzz, but the nature next to the Central Station is a real joy nevertheless.
Besides several exhibitions, interesting silent movies are shown from time to time.
It is nothing unusual that the exhibitions are diversified and change at a whole after time.

Great picks! I would also recommend hiring a bike and cycling around the beautiful park, it’s a popular thing to do and beautiful on a summery day 🙂
