Lounge Review: Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B)
Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B) is one of four Senator Lounges at Frankfurt Airport. Even though the lounge is one of the smaller Senator Lounges in Frankfurt, it is spacious enough and offers several different areas for relaxation, dining and working. You may also enjoy a nap or a shower at Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B).
Located just a few meters away from Lufthansa Business Lounge Frankfurt (B44), the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B) offers passengers holding Star Alliance Gold Status or flying First Class a relaxed retreat just a few steps away from most boarding gates in the B-Wing of Frankfurt Airport.
The lounge is mainly used by frequent flyers as First Class passengers may also enjoy even more exclusive facilities at Frankfurt Airport.
Seating at Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B)
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B) offers passengers several different seating areas.
Right next to the windows with tarmac views, there’s a large area of leather lounging chairs which are very comfortable and modern. The same is true for the rest of the interior as the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B) got refurnished a few years ago.
Next to the buffet, you may sit down at one of the dining tables. There’s also a bar where you may enjoy bar-style seating and full service.
Last but not least, there’s also a business area with office seating, so you can get some work done.
Even though only one part of the lounge is bright due to large windows, the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B) feels very airy as there are relatively few seating opportunities compared to the sheer size of the lounge.
Buffet at Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B)
We spent some time in the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B) early in the morning which means that breakfast was served.
The buffet was actually quite extensive. There was a nice selection of different rolls, breads, pretzels, croissants and toasts as well as cold cuts and cheeses.
So far for the typical German breakfast. Other choices included vegetables, quark, yoghurts, fruit salad, Bircher Muesli and whole fruits. For everyone who likes hot breakfast, there was also scrambled egg which tasted surprisingly good.
All kind of non- and alcoholic drinks are available at Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B) throughout the day. The coffee machine also does a good job, producing a decent coffee. At the same time, you may order your drinks at the bar if you have special requests.
Entertainment at Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B)
The entertainment options at the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B) are anything but limited. There is a very extensive choice of newspapers from all over the world. As I already mentioned in our review of the Lufthansa Business Lounge Athens, I think that Lufthansa offers the best choice of newspapers and magazines of all airlines.
Other entertainment options were large flat-screen televisions showing news channels as well as many computers available in the business area. The offered Wi-Fi was easy to use, but not as fast as we hoped it would be. Yet, the connection was decent.
Bottom line Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B)
If you got access to the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B), I wouldn’t bother to take the chance. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and comparable to most hotels in terms of choice and quality. Seating is diverse and comfortable and the view of the tarmac from the lounging area is beautiful, especially when the sun rises. Entertainment options are among the best in the world in my opinion even though there is no special kind of entertainment.
Talking about specials, the large nap room looks very comfortable for a good sleep and the showers are spacious and very clean (ten single cabins which are cleaned after each use). All in all, the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Frankfurt (B) is definitely worth spending some time at!
