Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin is one of two Lufthansa lounges at Berlin-Tegel Airport. Even though there are other lounges like the British Airways Galleries Lounge or the Air France Lounge at Berlin-Tegel, we find the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin to be the best lounge at the airport. Good food, solid seating and decent entertainment make spending time in the lounge enjoyable!
Like all other lounges at Berlin-Tegel Airport, the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin is located landside in Terminal A.
This means that you need to clear security after spending time in the lounge which is rather uncomfortable.
At least, Lufthansa Senator Lounge is located just a mere five minutes away from most boarding gates of Star Alliance flights departing from Berlin-Tegel.
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin is located to the right of the reception area (to the left is the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin) and is shaped a little strange. Yet, the somewhat special shaping makes it possible to enjoy several different seating arrangements.
Next to the buffet there are several dining tables which are decent for eating. Other areas come with large black leather armchairs or bar style seating. As the lounge got views of both, the terminal as well as the parking lot, you are sitting next to a window pretty much everywhere.
The only disadvantage of the seating at the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin is that it is rather worn up due to being several years old.
We enjoyed breakfast at the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin and couldn’t have been happier about the offerings.
The buffet comes with a wide selection of whole and cut fruits, several yoghurts, Bicher Muesli, cheese, cold cuts, pretzels, rolls and toast. The only hot item available besides some boiled eggs is scrambled egg.
Even though I’m no fan of not freshly prepared eggs, I must say that the ones offered at the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin were actually quite decent.
This is true for the quality of all food on the buffet.
For me, the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin definitely offers the best buffet of all lounges at Berlin-Tegel Airport.
As frequent readers know, I’m a huge fan of entertainment at Lufthansa lounges.
Not any surprisingly, I also loved the offerings at Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin. There is an extensive selection of German and international newspapers and magazines. Yet, I have to admit that the international choice was essentially smaller than in Athens or Frankfurt.
Additionally, guests of the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin can enjoy televisions showing news channels and very good Wi-Fi. There’s also a business corner in case you didn’t bring an own device.
As already pointed out, the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin definitely is the best lounge at Berlin-Tegel in my opinion. Sadly, access is limited to those passengers either flying Lufthansa First Class or holding a Star Allice Gold Status. If you got access, I’d definitely take advantage of the lounge as the buffet is decent in terms of choice as well as quality.
Seating is rather average as the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin is one of few lounges which still has the old Lufthansa lounge interior. Nevertheless, the great choice of entertainment options definitely makes up for this! Overall, definitely a lounge I’m very likely to recommend!
