Running in Paris is always an amazing experience. Just two weeks before the horrible terror attacks in the city, I had the pleasure of running there. I could have hardly enjoyed the experience more as the weather was beautiful and the scenery in Paris was more than just that.
Starting at Le Bristol Paris, my starting point for running in Paris couldn’t have been any better.
Map of my run through Paris (tracked by Runtastic)
No wonder I started my run at Champs-Élysées, one of the most beautiful boulevards in the city.
Lucky as I am, the weather that morning was beautiful and made running in Paris even more special.
Something utterly amazing about Paris on a Sunday morning is that you got the city for yourself pretty much.
There could be hardly any better start than the Champs-Élysées
Even Champs-Élysées was quite empty this morning. This allowed me to take some beautiful pictures of the avenue itself, but also of the interesting architecture and the luxury shops and hotels on one of the most amazing streets in the world.
Not to forget about the Triumphal Arch which gets more stunning the closer you get.
The Triumphal Arch is totally stunning
From l’Arc de Triomphe, I followed Avenue Kleber, another “luxurious” street with several stunning hotels and shops.
The next amazing spot in Paris which awaited me on my run was Trocadéro, a park and building complex which has an amazingly historic feeling.
Trocadéro doesn’t look too stunning from the back side
Trocadéro can look great, too
Something else I was able to admire from Trocadéro was the Eiffel Tower enlightened by a beautiful sunset.
Even though there were some construction works going on, I was able to shoot some amazing photos of Trocadéro before I went on to get closer and even run beneath the Eiffel Tower.
If you are taking this route while running in Paris, don’t forget to look left and right when you cross the Seine.
Definitely a panorama you shouldn’t miss!
There’s a nice panorama you shouldn’t miss!
After taking some more amazing pictures and running through Champs de Mars – definitely an amazing area for running –, I reached the Military School and the stables which are the building right next to the Military School.
This part of Paris is actually one of the most interesting ones if you are interested in history and culture.
There are several interesting museums and dozens of historic buildings which show you the real Paris.
On my way back, I did not only run through the nice park which can be found on the backside of Hôtel des Invalides, but also took the opportunity to take some pictures of the very imposing back side of the building.
From there on, I once again crossed the Seine and found myself next to the Petit and the Grand Palais.
Another panorama to admire
Both buildings were erected for the same purpose as the Eiffel Tower, the Exposition Universelle in 1900.
Both, Grand and Petit Palais, are worth checking out
Surely, the impressive Grand Palais and its surroundings were the perfect end for a stunning run in Paris.
If you like sightseeing and sports, I’m sure you’ll instantly fall in love with running in Paris!

i love Paris but i have been afraid to go there because of the bombings.
stay safe!!
I wouldn’t be worried about the situation in Paris anymore. The safety measures are extremly high. I never felt unsaved in Paris, especially not when running 🙂
thank, for the encouragement.
check out my blog, when you get the chance.
I definitely will 😉
My favorite city! Great pictures!
Thanks a lot! Definitely a prefect city for a little run!
What a wonderful city to explore on foot – stunning photos.
Absolutely. The amazing thing about Paris definitely is the high number of sights. Regardless of where you are, you’ll always stumble upon something great!
So very true. A beautiful city, let’s hope the recent events don’t mar it too much.
🙂 super schöne Fotos!
Liebe Grüße 🙂
Viele Dank und liebe Grüße zurück 🙂
This brings back so many memories… Your pictures are amazing! Makes me miss Paris so much! Walking around (or running!) is just so nice! Even though it is a busy city, I find it oddly relaxing!
Great to heart that. I can fully rely to this. Paris may be very touristic, but as the city is so widespread, you can always have a leisurely walk somewhere!
Yes, exactly! It’s an amazing city! 🙂
