W Amsterdam is the newest addition to the luxury hotel landscape in Amsterdam. Opened in October, the stylish hotel offers 238 extremely modern rooms for everyone who loves style and design. Two restaurants, a bar, an outdoor swimming pool as well as a gym and a spa (both to open in 2016) complement the offering of W Amsterdam.
The W brand by Starwood is constantly expanding. Several new properties have opened lately or will open in the next months. W Amsterdam just opened shortly and already got several positive reviews.
Looking at the photos of the property, it doesn’t come as a surprise. Not only all guestrooms, but the whole hotel looks totally stunning!
W Amsterdam comes with three different room categories as well as several suite categories. All come with the unique W bed, complimentary Wi-Fi and a stylish bathroom with a rain shower.
The Cozy Room offers 22 to 25 square meters (237 to 269 square feet), while the Wonderful Rooms are slightly larger with 25 to 30 square meters (269 to 323 square feet).
The Fabulous Rooms and several cool suites of W Amsterdam are even larger which is surprising in a city like Amsterdam where hotel rooms usually are on the small side.
All rooms at W Amsterdam come with the most modern and stylish design you’ll find in Amsterdam.

At W Amsterdam, there is no such thing as style over quality. This gets obvious when looking at the dining options.
“Mr. Porter” and “The Duchess” both offer high-quality cuisine with fresh ingredients. The latter restaurant focuses on Mediterranean cuisine, while guests can enjoy an amazing steak section at Mr. Porter which focuses on fresh meat.
Especially at Mr. Porter, guests can also indulge in the relaxed atmosphere of W Amsterdam.
On the weekend, there’s even a live DJ! If you also want to enjoy a nice drink at the hotel, “W Lounge” is the ideal spot to hang out.
New and modern hotels in Amsterdam have to come with fitness facilities. Surely, W Amsterdam doesn’t miss out, too. There’s for example a heated outdoor pool which is rather small in width, but at the same time long enough to swim laps.
Starting from 2016, guests of the new W property can also enjoy a full-service Spa offering treatments of all kinds as well as a fully equipped gym with state-of-the-art machines.
W Amsterdam looks like more than just a decent property. Yet, this has an influence on the prices, too. Normal room rates start at 380 Euro (~ 415 US-Dollar) per night for the Cozy Room. Breakfast, taxes and services are additional.
Rates for the two higher room categories start at 410 (~ 450 US-Dollar) and 440 Euro (~ 480 US-Dollar) respectively. The mentioned rates are on advanced purchase basis, but flexible rates are only slightly more expensive.
