Hotel Review: Conrad Bangkok

Conrad Bangkok is one of several luxury hotels in Bangkok. Located close to the Lumpini Park and a BTS station, the location is very good. Even though the hotel is a little dated, there are many reasons why staying at the property is a good decision. We especially liked the amazing service, the great Executive Lounge and the truly relaxing pool at Conrad Bangkok!

The choice of hotels in Bangkok could hardly be any better. There are several luxury hotels and most of these are also very affordable.

As a Hilton Diamond member, I was keen on trying Conrad Bangkok, the flagship Hilton property in the city.

The good location and the fair price were just two of many more arguments why we opted for the hotel.

In the aftermath, we didn’t regret our choice as the hotel is definitely one of the best in the city.

When checking-in, we were upgraded to a very nice Executive Corner Room. Located on one of the higher floors, the rooms still don’t offer an amazing view.

I’d rather say it’s more of a basic city view. Nevertheless, we liked the Executive Corner Room at Conrad Bangkok from the beginning. When entering, there’s a large entrance area with several wardrobes which is spacious, but a little dark.

Following, we found the working desk with a very comfortable chair and some more wardrobes to the left and the King Bed with two bedside tables in the middle of the room.

Next to the large window, there was also a table with an armchair opposite to the television which was movable.

While the décor was a little dated, the furniture was still in a decent shape. As the designer definitely was a good one, we were not any bothered by the 20th century design.

Bathroom of the Executive Corner Room

In the bathroom, we spotted one or another thing that made clear that the renovation was some years ago. Even though not everything was in perfect shape, the bathroom itself was quite nice.

Upon entering, there is a walk-in shower to the left and a deep-soaking free standing tub. Opposite to the door, there’s a single sink with the toilet next to it.

The bathroom felt very spacious

Even though the toilet was not separated, we actually liked the bathroom of the Executive Corner Room at Conrad Bangkok.

The toiletries by Aromatherapy, which I think are among the better ones in the industry, added another positive touch to the bathroom.

That said, it’s especially the little touches which made our first impression of Conrad Bangkok a very good one. On the bed, a little elephant, which now lives in our flat and has the name “Conrad”, awaited us and in the bathroom there was a rubber duck.

These are things you don’t see often in hotels, but add a very personal charm at the same time.

Executive Lounge at Conrad Bangkok

I couldn’t be more sad that I’ve been sick at Conrad Bangkok as the Executive Lounge is definitely one of the best ones I’ve ever experienced.

On the first evening, we attended the cocktail reception where you may enjoy any drink of your choice which is freshly prepared for you.

In the evening, you may even order cocktails of your choice

There’s also a decent selection of cold and hot snacks which were of the highest quality and may even replace a real dinner.

The dinner spread was truly impressive

Something I found especially great about the Executive Lounge was the great service.

You are constantly asked for drinks while sitting on your table, which is very rare in lounges. Another positive fact is the stunning view of Bangkok which I extremely enjoyed .

The views of Bangkok in the Executive Lounge are stunning

Sabrina also enjoyed the Afternoon Tea in the lounge which came with a small, but very good selection of sweet and savory treats.

When it comes to the Executive Lounge, Conrad Bangkok definitely is our number one hotel in Bangkok!

Gym & Pool at Conrad Bangkok

When it comes to the facilities of Conrad Bangkok, it’s worth pointing out that there are a full-service Spa, a large gym and also a nice outdoor pool area with an attached pool bar. We decided to have a look at the gym first.

The gym of Conrad Bangkok is extremly extensive

This one was truly amazing, especially for a hotel. The equipment was modern and in a very good shape and the choice of different machines was just wow.

After this overwhelming impression, we headed to the pool which is located on the ground floor.

Conrad Bangkok Pool

The pool of Conrad Bangkok is very big for a city hotel

Due to that, it is not as spectacular as the pool at for example the Okura Prestige Bangkok which we’ll review later. Nevertheless, we absolutely adored the pool area as the pool was surrounded by lush greens and all lounging areas had a certain degree of privacy.

The pool itself had a rather weird shape and though was not ideal for lap swimming, but as it is large enough you can swim some circles to get your sports done!

Breakfast at Conrad Bangkok

This section is a little small in this review as I was not in shape to have breakfast the morning at Conrad Bangkok.

Hilton Diamond members may enjoy breakfast in the lounge or the restaurant

Nevertheless, I had a look on the breakfast buffet on the ground floor which had a nice selection, but lacked atmosphere.

The buffet in the Executive Lounge offers everything one may need for breakfast

Due to that, Sabrina decided to have breakfast in the lounge which also had a great choice of hot and cold items. You may also order one or another thing which is not on the buffet and will be brought to you in just a few minutes.

There’s even a large selection of hot items

Sabrina said that both, quality and service were very good. As I already said, the Executive Lounge at Conrad Bangkok is a real highlight!

Overall impression of Conrad Bangkok

I don’t have the very best memories of Conrad Bangkok as I was just too sick to enjoy it. Nevertheless, the property is definitely one of the best hotels in the city. You may hesitate to book the hotel due to its age and the lack of recent renovations, but the rooms are still in a very good shape and the design is just fine.

Conrad Bangkok Tenis

There are also tennis courts at Conrad Bangkok if you are interested in some sports

Talking about the room, we couldn’t have been happier about the space we had to stretch out and the nice bathroom. While the pool and the gym are also absolutely great, the true highlight of Conrad Bangkok definitely is the Executive Lounge. I’d return to the hotel just to enjoy this lounge with its great service once again!
