Lounge Review: Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin

Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin

Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin is one of two Lufthansa lounges at Berlin Tegel Airport. Earlier, we already reviewed the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin which has stricter access criteria. Nevertheless, I didn’t really find the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin to be really inferior to the Senator Lounge. If you want to grab a snack prior boarding or just want to work in comfort, the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin is without any doubt a good option.

When arriving at Berlin Tegel Airport, it is pretty easy to reach Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin. Like the three other lounges at the airport we already reviewed (Lufthansa Senator Lounge, Air France Lounge, British Airways Terraces Lounge), the Lufthansa Business Lounge is located landside. You can find the lounge in Terminal 1 in the first floor, close to gate A0.

The entrance area is shared between the Lufthansa Senator Lounge, which is to the right and the Lufthansa Business Lounge, which can be found to the left.

Seating in the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin

The Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin is rather large with several different seating areas.

There’s some lounge style seating right after the entrance followed by the buffet area, where some dining tables as well as some high-top seating can be found. To the back end of the lounge, there’s another area with armchairs.

The seating itself is similiar to what can be found at the Lufthansa Senator Lounge and all is rather comfortable and private enough.

The dining tables look rather bland, but are functional

Compared to the Senator Lounge, I actually found the overall atmosphere in the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin to be superior as the lounge is facing the outside with the parking areas as well as the tarmac. As regular readers know, I highly value a nice view in lounge reviews!

This makes the lounge way brighter than the Lufthansa Senator Lounge, which is mostly inwards facing.

Buffet at the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin

The main difference between the Lufthansa Business and Senator Lounges is the buffet. While the latter comes with a large buffet with several breakfast options, the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin, for example, only had a limited breakfast spread.

The buffet at the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin has a decent size

This one wasn’t bad either with some scrambled eggs, rolls, croissants, cold cuts, cheeses, some cut vegetables and also whole fruits. There’s the WMF coffee machine and also the same little selection of fruit salad and joghurts.

Nevertheless, some of the items you can find on the buffet at the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Berlin are not available at the Business Lounge.

The coffee machine is one of the better available in lounges

If you are not a real breakfast person, you’ll most likely not even recognize the difference between the two buffets anyway, but when it comes to a detailed lounge review, it’s worth noting that the Senator Lounge is a little bit better.

Entertainment at the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin

If you are a regular reader of traveluxblog, you’ve most likely recognized that I’m a big fan of the entertainment offered in Lufthansa lounges. Not only are there many televisions showing different news channels, but there’s also very fast and reliable Wi-Fi.

You can find working areas in all lounges and you may also print things in the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin. What’s comparably amazing is the selection of newspapers and magazines available at the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin.

You’ll get all major German and international newspapers. There are also several magazines available, but you’ll have to ask for these at the reception.

Bottom line Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin

Till today, I didn’t really get why Lufthansa offers two different types of lounges. This gets obvious when comparing my reviews of the Senator Lounge and the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin. The only real difference are the few additional items on the buffet of the Senator Lounge, which is only accessible by passengers either flying First Class or holding a Star Alliance Gold status (including Lufthansa’s Senator status).

Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin Working

There’s even a special working area in the Lufthansa Business Lounge

Either way, I’d recommend the Lufthansa Business Lounge Berlin for all other passengers with access as you’ll surely have a good time prior boarding. Yet, you should be aware that you’ll have to walk another five minutes to your gate and still need to clear security, so plan some extra time before boarding to leave the lounge!

Curious what the world of lounges has to offer in comparison?

  1. It’s so nice to be able to do some work while you have to spend time in the airport. I haven’t had the chance to try the Lufthansa lounges in Germany, but I hope I will
