Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo Mofarrej is one of three Leading Hotels of the World in the biggest city in South America. The luxury hotel is located in one of the best quarters of the city and offers a very exclusive atmosphere. Nevertheless, definitely not everything about Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo Mofarrej is perfect as there are several flaws.

We were arriving late at Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo Mofarrej after a flight from the Iguazu Falls. Luckily, the check-in procedure was very easy and friendly.
The lobby of the luxury hotel already looks fabulous. It’s more modern, it’s spacious and it’s absolutely stylish.
While checking-in, we were explained the benefits of our stay, which included an upgrade to a Collection Suite, breakfast and a 100 US-Dollar food & beverage credit.
All benefits came through the Leaders Club Unlimited membership.
The Collection Suites at Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo are located on the highest floors of the hotel and thus come with a great view of the city. Upon entering, there is the minibar and a Nespresso coffee machine (capsules are not complimentary).
The living room of the Collection Suite is very well designed
The first room of the Collection Suite is the living room, where you can find a sofa, a low table, a flat screen television and a TV board. There’s also another table with two chairs and some information about the hotel. In the living room, there was also the welcome treatment consisting of fruits and nuts awaiting us.
The bedroom is relatively small, but also comes with a nice design
The bedroom, which is connected to the living room by an open hallway is relatively unspectacular. There’s a large bed with two bedside tables and a television and that’s it.
Moreover, the Collection Suite at Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo Mofarrej comes with a walk-in wardrobe in-between the two rooms. What’s worth mentioning about the Collection Suite is the stunning view from all the floor-to-ceiling windows around the room.
The view of the skyline is phenomenal
Sadly, the windows are not very good, which means that there is lots of noise even on the highest floors.
While I really liked the design and layout of the Collection Suite, I was quite disappointed by the bathroom. Personally, I find the bathroom to be one of the essential things to write about in a hotel review.
The size of the bathroom was quite shocking for a suite
Especially in a suite I definitely expect more than what we found at Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo Mofarrej. The bathroom was not only small, it also came only with a single sink, a toilet in the middle and a shower next to the bathtub at the end of the room.
While the rain shower was quite nice, the bathroom was oddly small, so it was hardly usable. Another fact I found quite awkward for a luxury hotel were the condition and the cleanliness of the bathroom.
What I personally love about luxury hotels is the fact that there is always a gym. At Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo Mofarrej there is oddly little fee you have to pay to use the gym as it’s a member’s club.
The gym is quite spacious and offers all types of machines
Yet, it’s worth it as the gym is very well equipped with lots of decent equipment. The atmosphere is also quite nice, which makes the gym one of the better ones I’ve spotted in hotels lately. The pool is quite a disaster in contrast.
The first odd thing is that the pool is located not only next to the bar/café, but you also have to pass both, the lobby and the interior areas of the bar to get to the pool.
Second, the pool is less than one meter deep, which makes swimming quite challenging. At least the loungers are relatively nice to sunbath.
With our dining credit in mind and a late arrival, we decided to have dinner in the awarded rooftop restaurant of Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo Mofarrej. Located on the 23rd floor “Arola Vintetres Restaurant” offers tapas and other Southern European delights.
The food served in the gourmet restaurant is of exceptional quality
The prices are very high for Brazilian standards and the atmosphere is very exclusive. Sadly, I found it a little bit too stylish and the staff was also a little too distant for my taste, which somewhat hurt the atmosphere. The food itself, be it the fish, the black pasta or the dessert trio was very good.
The view was also absolutely stunning, but if I’d have to pay the full bill, I actually wouldn’t return as the atmosphere was just somewhat lackluster.
We also opted for a decent Caesar Salad, which was promptly served via room service and also had a very good value for the money.
After waking up the next morning and doing a workout, we decided to go for breakfast. Sadly, this one is not served on the 23rd floor, but rather in the basement with only few day light.
Sadly, breakfast is served in the basement
I can’t really get why luxury hotels like Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo Mofarrej serve breakfast in such a depressing place. Another thing, which really surprised me was the fact that only café and no other hot drinks were free of charge – it’s actually the first time that I’ve seen this in a luxury hotel.
The buffet itself was not bad with a good choice of fruits, several hot options, an omelet station and lots of sweet items including pastries and cake. Nevertheless, I wasn’t really happy about breakfast at Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo as the lack of daylight doesn’t really make me start into a day positively.
I’m not really sure how to end this hotel review of Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo Mofarrej. The Collection Suite itself was gorgeous and the view was magnificent. Nevertheless, the room was too noisy for a luxury hotel and also came with a bathroom, which definitely is too small for a suite. The dinner was very good, but the atmosphere wasn’t great.
Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo Mofarrej is a good choice, but there is also room for improvement
Breakfast was okay with a lackluster atmosphere again. The gym is definitely cool, but the fee for hotel guests is odd. So is the pool, which isn’t really for swimming and also can’t be reached without passing the lobby. Taking into account that Hotel Tivoli Sao Paulo Mofarrej is a relatively affordable luxury hotel in Sao Paulo, I’d give it another shot upon returning. At the same time the hotel didn’t totally satisfy me.
