The Omni Hotel Dallas is one of the few modern luxury hotels in the city center of Dallas. Especially on the weekend the rates are very reasonable and what you get for what you pay is more than just decent. Learn more in our extensive hotel review!
Staying at Omni Hotel Dallas was a real no-brainer for us as the hotel offered a good rate and quite modern rooms, which is not the norm for luxury hotels in Dallas.
The hotel is located near Union Station and just steps away from the Dallas Convention Center. The city center and all important sights and museums are reachable by foot.
Upon arrival, we had to wait a few minutes, but were checked-in very friendly and efficiently afterwards. We were also offered a complimentary upgrade from a Deluxe Room to a Premier Room (the only difference is the higher floor) for no obvious reason.
Like that we had the plesaure to get one of the rooms on the highest floor!
Interestingly, the Premier Room at Omni Hotel Dallas looks more spacious than it really is on the pictures. Nevertheless, the Premier Rooms come with a decent size, which definitely beats most city hotels.
Upon entering, there’s the hallway with a wardrobe to the left and the bathroom to the right. Our room came with two Queen Size beds, an armchair in the corner of the room as well as a long working desk right below the flat-screen television.
What I found amazing about the working desk was the fact that there are two chairs and enough space for two to work. Surely, there was also a nightstand between the beds. Genereally, I found the Premier Room at Omni Hotel Dallas very well designed as it was practical and cozy at the same time.
The art and the pattern of the carpet also harmonized quite well. Something else amazing about the Premier Rooms at Omni Hotel Dallas is the stunning view of the city. The floor-to-ceiling views make it a breathtaking experience to spend time by the window during the day as well as during the night.
While not very spacious, I also found the bathroom of the Premier Room at Omni Hotel Dallas to be quite nice. There is just a single sink, but lots of space to place things next to the sink.
The toilet is somewhat placed in the middle of the room, but this leaves enough space for a nice walk-in shower at the same time.
While we don’t talk of a rain shower, the pressure was very good and the glass shield made showering quite comfortable.
Something else worth mentioning positively is that the controls are located on the side where you enter the shower and not below the showerhead. The amenities, branded by Omni, were average.
Omni Hotel Dallas offers its guests complimentary access to its fitness and relaxation facilities. These are located on a lower floor and though offer little less spectacular views.
However, this doesn’t mean that you aren’t still having a great view of the city while working out or having a swim. The gym itself is extremly spacious and offers everything you might dream of if you like sports.
There’s a large area with free weights and then there are also several machines for strength and dozens of cardio machines. The pool of Omni Hotel Dallas is located outside, but is also heated, which means it can be used all year long.
And wow! For a city hotel, Omni Hotel Dallas really offers a lot in this regard. The pool is extremly large and looks very modern and stylish.
Moreover, there is a ton of loungers around the pool, where you can relax when it’s sunny. There’s even a little fireplace near the pool.
Last but not least, the hot tub, which comes with the absolutely perfect temperature for a stormy day in Dallas, is another highlight of this area.
We didn’t have the chance to try the dining facilities at Omni Hotel Dallas, but the prices looked relatively reasonable. What I didn’t really find reasonable is the fact that Wi-Fi costs 10 US-Dollar per day for guests not registered for the frequent traveler program of Omni (you can register at the spot to save money). Also, I expect hotels like Omni Hotel Dallas to have international adapters for guests.
Instead, the hotel just sold one to us. Leaving this aside, we really enjoyed our time at Omni Hotel Dallas. The rooms are modern, spacious and very comfortable. The pool and the gym are top-notch and hard to beat for a city hotel. For sightseeing, the location of Omni Hotel Dallas might not be perfect, but it’s decent enough. Regardless of the reason you stay in Dallas, I’d definitely recommend giving the Omni a shot!
