The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich is one of the new Lufthansa lounges in the new „terminal“ at Munich Airport. The lounge comes with a fresh and modern design and offers views of the tarmac. This lounge review will explain why this lounge definitely is better than the lounges in the “old” part of Terminal 2.

With opening the new satellite at Munich Airport, Lufthansa decided to introduce five new lounges. One of those is the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich. We’ll also present the Lufthansa Business Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich, which is located right next to the Senator Lounge, in another review in a few weeks.
Our reviews of Lufthansa Lounges at Munich Airport:
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich comes with several different seating areas. Upon entering, you can find a large business center to the right and some seating cubicles to the left.
Seating the LH Senator Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich
Further to the lounge, there is a large dining area with several dining tables and chairs. At the large window front, which faces the tarmac and thus allows for some nice views (something none of the old Lufthansa lounges in Munich does), you can find a selection of more comfortable seating.
There are several comfortable arm chairs with small tables. Also, there are some loungers, where you can relax for a while in a relatively horizontal position.
There are also nice relaxation chairs in the LH Senator Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich
To the left of the buffet, which is located between the dining and the relaxation area by the window, there is also a nap / sleep area, where you can find comfortable beds with more privacy than all other areas in the lounge.
I had the pleasure to check out the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich a couple of times in the last months.
Buffet at the LH Senator Lounge
Sadly, I only had the pleasure to see the selection for dinner, but generally the offerings were very similar to what is offered in other Senator Lounges in Germany.
The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Munich Satellite also comes with a nice bar
You might check out our reviews of the Senator Lounge Berlin, the Senator Lounge Schengen I Munich, the Senator Lounge Schengen II Munich or the Senator Lounge Z44 Frankfurt for more information.
That said, the dinner spread is absolutely fine in my opinion. There’s a nice selection of salads and cold cuts as well as the choice of two or three hot options. While I’m not a huge fan of Bavarian food in general, I found the idea to offer something local somewhat cool.
There’s also a dessert buffet with a few options. Surely, you can also enjoy different rolls and pretzels in the Senator Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich. Also worth mentioning is the extensive selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. Moreover, the WMF coffee machine prepares very good coffee.
If you are familiar with my reviews of other Lufthansa Senator Lounges, you are aware that I’m a huge fan of the entertainment selection offered.
There is an extensive choice of newspapers and magazines available in the lounge
That’s especially true as you can find an extensive selection of national and international newspapers, a nice choice of magazines (which you have to ask for at the reception) and a business center with computers, work cubicles and printers. Surely, you can also enjoy Wi-Fi throughout the lounge.
The Wi-Fi offered by Telekom in the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich is easily accessible and quite fast. If you are in relaxation more, you might also enjoy the nice little TV area, where you can watch a channel of your choice in a comfortable armchair (you might need to ask at the reception to switch the channel).
Beautiful design, nice views, a bright lounge and great entertainment options. The Lufthansa Senator Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich is without any doubt a very nice lounge. The food offerings in the lounge are in line with what is offered in other Lufthansa Senator Lounges, but everything else is superior in my opinion.
The LH Senator Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich is a physically stunning lounge
If you are not short in time, I’d even recommend to switch the terminal (takes about five minutes each) to enjoy the new Senator Lounge. Especially for longer layovers, the lounge is an amazing place to spend some time!
Curious what the world of lounges has to offer in comparison?
