Lounge Review: JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita

The JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita is the biggest lounge by Japan Airlines in the world. The lounge, which is right next to the JAL First Class Lounge, is located in the main terminal of Tokyo Narita Airport and can be accessed directly after security. The lounge is extremely spacious and comes with a modern and very inviting design.
If you are either flying Business Class, First Class or holding a Sapphire or Emerald Status with any oneworld airline, you can get access to the JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita.

The JAL Sakura Lounge is one of the biggest lounges I’ve ever visited
Be aware that First Class passengers and Emerald members are also granted access to the First Class Lounge. The JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita itself comes with three different areas on two floors and looks quite impressive upon entering!
Seating in the JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita
The JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita comes with a small buffet and some seating straight forward from the entrance. In this area, you can also find a sleeping area with some beds as well as the business center of the JAL Sakura Lounge.
Especially the latter is extremely spacious. Other than that, this area comes with tables and armchairs with a nice view of the tarmac and thus lots of daylight. There’s also a small buffet in this area. If you are instead turning left after entering the JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita, you’ll find yourself in the biggest area of the lounge.
This one comes with dozens of armchairs as well as several very inviting looking couches. While the view is a little worse here (solely due to the size), the area still looked reasonably inviting.

You can also find some sleeping boxes in the lounge
There are also stairs to the dining area in this part. The dining area consists of different types of chairs and tables, some with stunning views of the tarmac.

The view of the tarmac is truly stunning
Pretty much all seating areas throughout the JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita come with plugs, something I find especially important in lounges.
Buffet in the JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita
While the small buffet in the smallest area of the JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita just features some snacks, drinks and alcoholic beverages, the bigger buffet in the dining area comes with a reasonable choice of hot and cold options.
While I can’t really tell what the options available were, everything looked reasonably nice. You can find several different rice dishes as well as soups among others.
There’s also a nice little salad buffet if you are looking for a healthy option.
Entertainment in the JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita
The entertainment options in the JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita are also quite nice. You can find a few televisions throughout the lounge if you want to watch some news channels.

There are several magazines available in the JAL Sakura Lounge
Other than that, there is the mentioned big business center with work cubicles and also dozens of computers and printers, which you can use complimentary. While the choice of international newspapers and magazines is somewhat limited, there is a great choice of Japan papers available.

You can also make use of the business center in the lounge
All in all, the entertainment options at the JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita could hardly be any better. And then there are also the stunning views of the tarmac and the JAL fleet…
Bottom line JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita
Flying Japan Airlines was hell of an experience, but the JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita is nothing less. The lounge comes with a decent buffet, very nice seating areas, good Wi-Fi and an amazing business center.

The JAL Sakura Lounge is modern and spacious
What I found especially nice besides the view were the plenty different seating areas, which all looked very inviting. If you got some time to kill at Tokyo Narita Airport, I can just recommend to do so at the JAL Sakura Lounge Tokyo Narita if you have access!
Curious what the world of lounges has to offer in comparison?
