The Lufthansa Business Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich is one of five new lounges in the new satellite terminal of Munich Airport. It’s worth noting that only the lounges in the new part of the terminal got outside view and thus views of the tarmac. That’s one of a few more reasons why I absolutely recommend the new Lufthansa Business Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich!
Munich Airport comes with tons of different Lufthansa Lounges. In the Schengen area alone you may choose between three different Lufthansa Business Lounges. Furthermore, there are several Lufthansa Senator Lounges and also three First Class Lounges. Here’s an overview of the lounges I’ve already reviewed here on traveluxblog:
Especially when reading the last of the three reviews, you’ll spot similarities to the lounge I’m reviewing here. Well, this doesn’t come as a surprise as both lounges are located right next to each other and were opened on the same day.
The Lufthansa Business Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich comes with different seating areas. Upon entering the lounge, you can find the restrooms and showers to the left and the business center to the right.
This one is equipped with computers, work cubicles and printers. The main area of the lounge consists of modern armchairs with large side tables as well as another couch for lounging.
Furthermore, there are several dining tables and some high-top seating next to the buffet. All of these areas also come with daylight as the lounge has tarmac view in this section. Yet, the Lufthansa Senator Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich still comes with a better view.
Nevertheless, I find the design of the Lufthansa Business Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich to be stylish and beautiful. The lounge is definitely a nice spot to hang out for an hour or even more.
I’ve always been puzzled by the difference between Lufthansa Senator and Lufthansa Business Lounges. Most of the lounges look pretty similar and the only difference seems to be the access criteria.
Having been to both new lounges several times, I can safely say that there is indeed another difference: the buffet. While it looks similar at first, the choice at the Senator Lounge has always been slightly better.
I’m not speaking of huge differences, but rather of one or two more cold and one more hot dish available. The buffet of the Lufthansa Business Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich is still absolutely fine with a choice of hot and cold dishes as well as some deserts.
Furthermore, there is also a selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages available.
In the section about seating in the new Lufthansa Business Lounge I’ve already mentioned that there is an extensive business center right after the entrance of the lounge.
Yet, this is just one of many more entertainment options available in the premium lounge. As it is the norm for Lufthansa lounges, there is an extensive choice of national and international newspapers. These are complemented by several different magazines available at the reception desk.
Besides televisions showing news channels and live sports events, you can also make use of the Wi-Fi provided by Deutsche Telekom. Connecting is easy and the speed is usually great.
I would describe myself as a fan of Lufthansa Lounges as the entertainment options are stunning, the seating is nice and the buffet is absolutely sufficient. Yet, I was always sad that there are no lounges with daylight in Munich. This changed with the addition of the new terminal.
Luckily, the new lounges are very well executed, come with great views, lots of daylight and a very modern and stylish design. The Lufthansa Business Lounge Schengen Satellite Munich may be a little worse than its counterpart for Star Alliance Gold guests, but the lounge is still absolutely decent and a great place to spend some time prior to your departure!
