The JAL First Class Lounge Tokyo Narita Satellite is the smaller of the two Japan Airlines First Class Lounges at Tokyo Narita Airport. Sadly, there’s a real difference in quality as well. Read more about it in our extensive lounge review!
There are a couple of lounges at Tokyo Narita Airport, which you might have access to when flying any oneworld airlines. Here are the lounges that you can already read about on traveluxblog:
In this installement, I’ll review the JAL First Class Lounge Tokyo Narita Satellite. Due to the size of the terminal, Japan Airlines decided to have two lounges in both areas (I’ll review the Sakura Lounge in the Satellite later). The access criteria (First Class & oneworld Emerald) is identical though.
The JAL First Class Lounge Tokyo Narita Satellite is located above the Sakura Lounge and offers a beautiful view of the tarmac.
Upon entering, the lounge immediately feels very private and intimate. During my visit, there was just one other guest, making the experience especially enjoyable.
The design of the lounge is very relaxing as the interior looks very high quality and gives the lounge a cozy feeling. While the JAL First Class Lounge Tokyo Narita Satellite is not big, there is plenty of different seating available.
By the window, there are very comfortable armchairs with privacy blinds, while there are more classic lounge chairs closer to the entrance. Right next to the buffet, which is located in a different room, there is also a small dining area.
Further to the back of the lounge, there’s some more semi-private seating with traditional lounge armchairs as well as stylish chairs by the window. In addition to the great design, the lounge was spotlessly clean and in a perfect condition during my visit.
Truth to be told, I wasn’t impressed by the catering in the JAL First Class Lounge Tokyo Narita. Yet, the offerings on the small buffet are ahead of what is offered in the Satellite Lounge.
In addition, the main lounge offers a sushi bar, which is also not availalbe in the satellite. The buffet in the JAL First Class Lounge Tokyo Narita Satellite offers small snacks, which are immediatelly replaced.
In addition, there’s a top-notch offering of different non-alcoholic drinks and premium alcohol including spirits, champagne, sake and wines.
While all the snacks didn’t only look great, but also tasted fresh and very good, I sort-of expected a little more. For example, there are no real hot options at all in the JAL First Class Lounge Tokyo Narita Satellite.
The JAL First Class Lounge Tokyo Narita Satellite offers a broad range of entertainment options including a business center with work cubicles and computers as well as fast and reliable Wi-Fi.
If you are more into classic entertainment, you might enjoy reading one of the plenty newspapers and magazines available. There’s also a massage chair, which you can use free of charge.
Televisions, showing international news channels, can also be found throughout the lounge. You can find modern washrooms and showers in the lounge, too.
The JAL First Class Lounge Tokyo Narita Satellite is a physically stunning place. The design is beautiful and makes spending time in the lounge very enjoyable. The views of the tarmac don’t hurt either. The entertainment options available should suit everyone as well.
The buffet of the lounge is not very extensive, but offers high quality in drinks and food. While the lounge is overall great, it lacks special amenities, which I’m used to from First Class Lounges. Even though there might not be a “wow effect” in the JAL First Class Lounge Tokyo Narita Satellite, I’d still say that it’s a great place to hang out before boarding your flight!
