Running on Cyprus
Running on Cyprus was an extremely enjoyable experience. I had the pleasure to go running in Limassol, in the area of the Amathus Beach Hotel Limassol. The landscpae is just hard to beat, but see yourself!
During our holidays on Cyprus, I went running a couple of times and decided to feature one of these runs here on traveluxblog.
- Distance: 5.75 kilometers
- Jogged altitude: 20 meters
- Calories burned: 325-375
- Month: December
- Weather: Sunny
That’s mainly due to the fact that it was so enjoyable. Personally, I didn’t expect the landscape to be that beautiful. Yet, in combination with the nice weather, it was just incredible enjoyable.
If you are just checking the map: I didn’t run on water, but rather right next to it 😉
Running along a breathtaking promenade
Running on Cyprus was enjoyable from the start on. Why? Because right next to the Amathus Beach Hotel Limassol, there is a stunning promenade.
I’d definitely recommend to run in the opposite direction of Limassol as the route is way more enjoyable in this direction.
After approximately one kilometer, you’ll reach a wooden bridge, which allows you to run pretty much ‘through’ the ocean and thus offers breathtaking views in all directions.
Whether you are running or just having a walk: I’m sure there is no better area to go for it!
Enjoying the beach and the sun
As the weather was just beautiful, I was able to enjoy the sun all the way of my run. That was especially nice as I reached a beautiful and long-stretching beach right after the wooden promenade.
There’s even a little pier, from which you can enjoy an even more amazing view. I even stopped here for a moment, just to enjoy the sun – something very rare for me when running.
Afterwards I went back and kept enjoying the incredibly beautiful scenery. All that said, I must say: I’ve hardly had such an enjoyable run.
The combination of a beautiful scenery with amazing weather was just great. So if you happen to be in this area on Cyprus, definitely go for a run!
