The DoubleTree Santiago Vitacura is the only Hilton upscale option in the capital of Chile. While I wasn’t sure what to expect, I was actually more than happy with my stay. In this review, you’ll see why the DoubleTree Santiago is well worth the money.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Santiago is located in the Vitacura neighborhoud, which is the most modern and American inspired area of the city. There are skyscrapers, malls, restaurants and so on.
Thus, you won’t really feel like you are in South America when staying at the DoubleTree Santiago. However, there is a metro station just five minutes away, making it easy to get to the city center. You may also take a cab or an Uber for the distance of approximately seven kilometers.

The check-in was one of the absolute highlights of our stay at the DoubleTree Santiago Vitacure. The agent checking us in was from America and was not only very friendly, but also absolutly down to earth. He explained us everything about the hotel, the city and much more. Just great. The DoubleTree Cookie was another highlight of the check-in exprience – as usual at DoubleTree hotels.
Thanks to my Hilton Diamond status, I was upgraded to a Junior Suite. This one was located on the 7th floor and featured views of the city and the main street in front of the hotel.
Junior Suite at the DoubleTree Santiago Vitacura
While the views weren’t exciting, they were not bad either. The Junior Suite as such is relatively small and comes with two areas, which are seperated by a console, where you can find the flat-screen television.
To the right, there is a comfortable King Bed with two besides tables, while you can find a couch, a chair and a working desk with a proper office chair to the left.
Something I found great about the room at the DoubleTree Santiago was the large window front, which makes the room very bright and airy.
The nice and modern design is another positive aspect of the Junior Suite.
The Junior Suite at the DoubleTree Santiago Vitacura comes with a suprisingly small bathroom. There’s a sink with some storage, a toilet and a walk-in shower.
Bathroom of the Junior Suite
While I’d say that’s fine for a normal room at a DoubleTree, I found it a little disappointing for a suite. However, the shower was very nice and came with a good pressure.
The toiletries provided were the typical Aroma Active ones.
The facilities at the DoubleTree Santiago are a little limited. There’s just a gym, which is well equipped, but again not very spacious.
The views are decent though and the equipment is modern. Sadly, there is neither a pool nor any relaxation area.
One of the highlights of a stay at the DoubeTree by Hilton Santiago definitely is breakfast. While I didn’t expect much, I was more than positively surprised.
Breakfast at the DoubleTree Santiago
Not only was the buffet were extensive with lots of options, but everything looked very fresh and delicious. The whole buffet made a great appearance and I can’t really think of anything that was missing.
The buffet at the DoubleTree Santiago is stunning
There’s even a large hot selection alongside the continental buffet with several fresh fruits and very good pastries, even including cakes. The service was very prompt and friendly.
The only downside of breakfast at the DoubleTree Santiago is that you can’t order freshly prepared eggs from the kitchen. If it’s warm enough, I’d also recommend sitting on the terrace, which is a very nice place to have breakfast.
Being a Hilton Honors Diamond members, I was also invited to a welcome drink.
We had a glass of white wine and a pisco sour. Both drinks were good, but nothing to write home about.
Yet, the bar itself is very stylish and a great place to hang out. There’s also a restaurant attached to it.
All in all, I really enjoyed my stay at the DoubleTree Santiago. The service was great from the beginning to the end, the room was modern and well appointed and the breakfast was a real treat. Besides that, there’s a decent gym and a nice bar. While the facilities might be limited, the DoubleTree is still an amazing option if you are in Santiago on business or for tourism.
