Life in Paris

Salut travellers,

Here we are again and this time writing from Paris! We moved to our flat, settled in very well and also made the mandatory trip to IKEA! Luckily my parents were here with the car, as its quite a hassle to get there with public transport.

The first few days we were busy with sorting out general things like opening a bank account, understanding the metro system and so on. Trust me, our experience with deliveries and anything related to amazon so far has just been awful!

Alongside of that I’ve now spent my first days at Sciences Po and try to keep up with the French mess of changing class rooms, waiting lists for courses, etc. If you’ve ever lived or studied here, I’m sure you know exactly what I’m talking about.

However, we’ve also started to be tourists in our new home from the very beginning on and got to spend a night at the InterContinental Le Grand. While we weren’t the biggest fans of the hotel, we enjoyed being in a central location for some sightseeing. So with Moritz’ sister coming to Paris for a visit, we decided to go to the Montmartre.

Instead of taking the funiculaire up to the Sacre Coeur we climbed up the steps, had a little stroll along the Place du Tertre (personally one of my favourite places so far because of all the nice paintings) and then took a typical, touristy selfie right in front of the Sacre Coeur. As we had to head back for checking out of the hotel, we didn’t have enough time to go inside, but I’m sure we will some day!

As always, please share with us your favourite places, restaurants and things to do in Paris! We are looking forward to your comments and sharing our experiences in Paris with you!

A bientôt,

Anna et Moritz
