The Marker Dublin is one of the newest luxury hotels in the city. I’ve used a Leaders Club Free Night Certificate to stay at The Marker and overly enjoyed the stay. In this review, I’ll explain what you can expect of staying at the Marker.
If you are searching for The Marker Dublin, you just have to look at the most modern part of the city, where you can find the headquarters of all the big tech companies. Right there, The Marker sits with a very modern and stylish design and views of the water.
Exterior of The Marker Dublin
The lobby is very stylish as well and the check-in was both, friendly and warm. Despite the fact that the room wasn’t ready yet (it was around noon, so no problem at all), everything was fine up to that point.
When we were returning, the room was ready and we were upgraded to a Deluxe Room thanks to my Leaders Club membership. The layout of the room is pretty identical to what you will find at other hotels.
Layout of the Deluxe Room
In the entryway, there’s a door to the bathroom as well as some space to hang your stuff and put your clothes. The room itself is quite spacious with approximately 35 square meters.
The centerpiece of the room is a comfortable King Bed, which comes with a stylish combination of a decorative pillow and a day blanket. By the window, there’s an arrangement with two chairs and a coffee table, while opposite of the bed there’s a long board that double as a tv board and a working desk.
There’s also a rolling office chair at the desk and a real plant on the other side of the board. Furthermore, there’s a nice luggage rack, which doesn’t look as cheap as many more.
View
The view, while not memorable, is quite nice, too. A while after getting to our room, we were brought up a Welcome Gift.
While not a lot of food or a very “rich” gift, I found the idea to be a nice touch.
The design of the whole Deluxe Room at The Marker Dublin is tasteful and atmospheric and that continues in the bathroom.
Bathroom of the Deluxe Room
This one is all white marble and looks both, modern and luxurious at the same time. There’s a very nice bathtub, a single sink, a toilet and a nice walk-in shower.
I found the shower pressure to be quite good and also liked the Malin + Goetz toiletries provided.
As we were quite tired in the evening, we decided to just have room service dinner at The Marker Dublin. The prices are typically high for a luxury hotel, but not outrageous.
We had some rather unhealthy fast food options, which were served quite nicely and also tasted good. To my surprise, even the fries were quite good. While not fancy, I’d say that it was a nice meal.
Booking through Leaders Club, we also reveiced breakfast in the morning. Breakfast at The Marker Dublin is served in the main restaurant, located right next to the lobby.
Breakfast Buffet at The Marker Dublin
Sadly, it was totally packed when we arrived and we even had to wait a while before getting seated. The breakfast buffet per se is quite nice and comes with a decent choice of the typical breakfast items, including cut fruits, yoghurts, mueslis, bread rolls, pastries and so on.
Hot options are also available on the buffet. Additionally, you may order a couple of options from an à la carte menu, which we took advantage of. We tried the Bircher Muesli (very good), the egg white omelet (good) and the pancakes (good).
All in all, the breakfast at The Marker Dublin was very enjoyable. Only the crowds somewhat harmed the experience.
Something that makes The Marker a great place to stay are the additional facilities that you can use free of charge. Those include a somewhat dark (there are no windows) and cramped gym, which is located inside of the Spa.
There are a couple of machines, including the typical treadmills, bikes, strength machines as well as free weights, but the room is a little small for my taste. However, everything is clean and state-of-the-art. Right next to the gym, The Marker Dublin also offers an extensive relaxation area, which includes a pool, a sauna, a steam bath and a jacuzzi.
You may also relax for a while in one of the loungers next to the pool. While I’m sure that somebody took a lot of effort into designing the whole space, I must say that I didn’t really like the atmosphere of the area. It’s just too dark and somewhat cold to feel comfortable.
Overall, I very much enjoyed my stay at The Marker Dublin. The rooms are modern and spacious, while the bathrooms feel luxurious. We enjoyed a nice room service meal and had a very nice breakfast as well. Service was spot-on most times and the relaxation and sports facilities are on a high level.
Lobby of The Marker Dublin
While I wasn’t too happy about a few minor things like crowding or the lack of atmosphere at the pool, I’d still highly recommend staying at The Marker Dublin. That’s especially true if you like modern hotels!
