The Conrad Manila is one of the newest Conrad hotels. Shortly after its opening, I had the chance to check out the brand new luxury hotel. In this review, I’ll share my impressions!
I’m a real fan of the Conrad brand and reviewed several properties already, including the following:
The property in Manila is one of the newest addition to the Hilton luxury segment. As a Hilton Diamond Member I had “no choice” other than booking this new hotel.
Overall, it was definitely a good decision, but the Conrad Manila isn’t perfect either.
Having booked a Standard Room, I didn’t actually expect a suite upgrade. Well, I was wrong, because when I was checking-in in the Executive Lounge, I was given keys for a Premier Suite.
The staff was kind enough to accompany me to the room and explain the facilities. The Premier Suite at the Conrad Manila is a great room, in my opinion. Upon entering, you’ll find a large entrance area, where you can find some wardrobes as well as the minibar and the Nespresso coffee maker.
Further into the room, you’ll find yourself in the spacious living room, which offers a very nice couch set-up and one of the most amazing working desks I’ve ever seen in a hotel.
It is perfectly equipped, spacious, directly by the window and even ideal for two people working at the same time.
The bedroom of the Premier Suite at the Conrad Manila is separated from the lving room by two sliding doors and comes with a perfectly comfortable King Bed, two bedside tables and a daybed by the window.
Next to the bedroom, there is a spacious walk-in wardrobe, where you can store your luggage and more.
Connected to that, you can find the master bathroom. All in all, I totally adored the Premier Suite at the Conrad Manila. The room is spacious, comes with a very nice modern design and a great layout. The room feels very cozy, too.
The views of the inner courtyard and the Bay of Manila are beautiful, too.
The only downside of the room is that people from the inner courtyard and other rooms can see you if you don’t lower the (electronical and easy to use) blinds.
The bathroom of the Premier Suite comes with all the luxury you’d expect at a hotel like the Conrad Manila.
There is a free-standing tub, a double sink, a walk-in shower with two different shower heads and a great water pressure as well as a seperated toilet.
Toiletries are provided by Aromatherapy as it is the norm for Conrad hotels.
The bathroom has a very modern design and lots of white marble and thus looks beautiful, too.
Sadly, my stay at the Conrad Manila was rather short as I was flying to the UK in the Philippine Airlines Business Class the next day. Thus, I only checked out the Executive Lounge in terms of the food offerings. The lounge is located on the highest floor and thus offers phenomenal views of the bay.
While the design is very nice, the lounge feels a little cold and lacks some atmosphere. Nevertheless, it’s one of the nicest Conrad lounges out there. The food selection is a little disappointment for an Asian luxury hotel though.
During the day, there are just a few snacks. In the afternoon, there’s a decent Afternoon Tea selection and in the evening there is a selection of a few hot dishes and some snacks.
No, it’s not a bad selection by any means, but I expected a little more of the Conrad Manila.
Due to my early departure, I didn’t have chance to try the breakfast in the restaurant, but only went to the Executive Lounge. This one offers a decent selection with the typical continental and a few hot options.
The best thing about breakfast in the Executive Lounge definitely is that it is very calm and the views of the bay are magnificent.
Hot options like egg dishes and all kinds of coffee specialities may also be ordered from the kitchen. All in all, a very enjoyable breakfast.
The Conrad Manila comes with a very big swimming pool in the inner courtyard.
The pool actually feels like a resort pool a little bit and there are a couple of loungers (some even on an island of-sorts) and is truly amazing for a city hotel.
There’s a nice pool bar, too, if you are craving for a drink or food. Right next to the pool, you can also find a nice gym, which is well equipped with modern machines for strength and cardio training (including free weights) and offers views of the pool.
What amazed me is that there is a personal trainer available on a complimentary basis. The gym area also offers a sauna and a steam bath if you want some more heat than what the temperature in Manila offers anyways.
The Conrad Manila is an amazing luxury hotel. It has a great location if you want to have nice views of the sea and go shopping (the biggest mall in Manila is right next door) or if you are departing from Manila Airport. At the same time, it is a little further away from the Makati District and the City Center. Nevertheless, I’d recommend staying here as the rooms are gorgeous and offer amazing views. The staff is doing an amazing job, the Executive Lounge is very nice and the pool area is hard to beat as well. While there are a few minor issues, the Conrad Manila definitely is one of the best hotels in the city.
