Hotel Review: Hilton Garden Inn Bali Airport
The Hilton Garden Inn Bali Airport is the cheapest of all Hilton options on the island and despite not being on the beach, the hotel offers a great value for the money. In this review, I’ll explain why I think that staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Bali Airport is a very good idea.
Arriving very late on Bali, I decided to choose an airport hotel for my first night on the island. That’s not only a good idea for the budget, but also for convenience.
- Classification: Four Stars
- Room Category: One Bedroom Suite
- Month of Stay: October
When staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Bali, you’re picked up from the airport complimentary and you’re driving for just five minutes to get to the hotel. Thus, the Hilton Garden Inn Bali is truly ideal if you are having a late arrival or early departure. My check-in process was quick and friendly and as a Hilton Honors Diamond member I was even offered an upgrade to a suite facing the street (some rooms are facing the courtyard, too).
One Bedroom Suite at the Hilton Garden Inn Bali
Despite the Hilton Garden Inn Bali being a budget hotel, there are a couple of different room types, including suites. My One Bedroom Suite had the typical Hilton Garden Inn touch, but did have a local feel at the same time. Upon entering, you’ll find yourself in the living room, which comes with a half-bathroom with a toilet and a sink.
The living room comes with a dining table with three chairs, a working desk with an ergonomic chair and a couch with a table and another armchair facing a flat-screen television.
The bedroom is way smaller with just a King Bed, two nightstands and a wardrobe as well as another flat-screen television.
Off the bedroom, there’s the main bathroom, which comes with a bathtub, a toilet, a sink and a walk-in shower with a very nice rain shower head.
The view isn’t especially noteworthy as the room faced the parking lot.
Furthermore, I didn’t really recognize any annoying noise, which is another plus. Other than that, it’s worth noting that the interior doesn’t feel extremely high quality, but doesn’t look cheap either. You shouldn’t expect real luxury interior, but for a Hilton Garden Inn it’s more than just alright.
Breakfast at the Hilton Garden Inn Bali Airport
As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I was entitled to complimentary breakfast at the Hilton Garden Inn Bali Airport. To my surprise, breakfast at the HGI Bali is on a high level, too.
There’s mainly seating inside, but there’s also some outdoor seating facing the pool.
The buffet doesn’t have the most extensive selection I’ve seen, but there are plenty of hot and cold options and you can even order omelets at a station.
Especially the hot options as well as the selection of cut fruits were great, too. Even though many tables were occupied, the service at breakfast was quick and friendly.
Pool & Gym at the Hilton Garden Inn Bali
The Hilton Garden Inn Bali Airport offers surprisingly extensive facilities. Those include a gym, which is located in a very large room above the breakfast restaurants, but the few machines look a little lost due to the incredible size of the room.
There are a couple of cardio machines, two strength machines and a couple of free weights and everything is in a very good condition. For an airport hotel, that’s all you need. Even nicer than the gym, the pool at the Hilton Garden Bali really amazed me. It’s located in the inner courtyard and it’s surrounded by lush green and very comfortable loungers.
Not only is the pool looking very nice, but it’s also perfect for swimming laps as it’s long and broad at the same time. The Hilton Garden Inn Bali Airport, without any doubt, offers the nicest pool I’ve ever experienced at a Hilton Garden Inn property.
Overall impressions of the Hilton Garden Inn Bali Airport
The Hilton Garden Inn Bali Airport is an amazing option for a stay near the airport. If you are arriving late or departing early, spending a night here is definitely recommended. Especially as the hotel is very cheap on many dates, I can fully recommend staying here. For longer stays on Bali, where you want to experience the beach etc., I’d recommend something else though. For example, I loved my stay at The Legian Bali and very much enjoyed staying at the Conrad Bali, too.
