The DoubleTree Cracow Convention Centre is a new hotel located a little outside of the city center. In this hotel review, we’ll explain what you can expect of staying here!
The DoubleTree brand is somewhat a full service property, while still not being luxury. The new hotel in Cracow perfectly fits into this scheme as it offers a very high level of comfort with a decent price tag.
The only real downside of the property is its location a little out of town. In this review, we’ll explain what else you need to know about staying here.
Upon arrival, I was greeted friendly and was told that I would get an upgrade to a Junior Suite thanks to my Hilton Diamond status. This upgrade was a nice gesture, especially as the room had a very nice size.
Upon entering, there’s a small wardrobe area and the bathroom to the right. The main room is maybe 35 square meters and offers the comfortable bed with two nightstands on each side.
Right next to the bed, there’s a large working desk with a proper office chair.
Opposite of the bed and closer to the door, there’s a nice seating area, which has a couch, another seating option as well as two tables. It looks a bit odd, but offers comfortable seating.
Interestingly, the Junior Suite at the DoubleTree Cracow also comes with a kitchenette, which has a coffee machine, a sink and several drawers with cutlery, plates, etc.
There was also a cute little welcome gift.
The bathroom is quite nice, too. It’s not only spacious, but comes with a double sink, a toilet and plenty of toiletries.
Weirdly though, there’s no separate shower, but rather a shower-tub combo.
The bathroom is quite modern and was spotlessly clean. All in all, I liked the room at the DoubleTree Cracow very much and thought it was not only spacious, but also very well appointed.
The DoubleTree Cracow offers an Executive Lounge for all guests booking an Executive Room and higher or holding Hilton Gold or Diamond Status. The lounge is one medium-sized room with various seating.
The food spread consists of a small breakfast selection, which has all the essentials, but isn’t groundbreaking at the same time.
In the afternoon, there are various different cakes, cookies and fruits available.
Then in the evening, there’s a selection of salad, a few cold options and two hot dishes, which are varying on a daily basis.
While I wouldn’t say that this is an amazing Hilton lounge, it offers decent food and comfortable seating without getting too crowded.
While you can have breakfast at the Executive Lounge, I’d highly recommend going to the restaurant instead. Here, the selection is way superior and actually very good.
There are various cold options, including the typical cold cuts, cheeses, veggies, fruits, but also several local options like fish. You can also enjoy several hot dishes like eggs, bacon, baked beans etc.
In addition to the buffet, there’s a live cooking station, where you can order various egg dishes.
All in all, a very nice breakfast for a DoubleTree hotel!
The DoubleTree Cracow offers an extensive recreation area. First of all, there’s a gym with some equipment. It’s located in a dark basement room, which isn’t really great.
At the same time, it’s relatively big and thus allows for various kinds of workouts. There are cardio machines, free weights and strenght machines and while there is no premium equipment, everything is new and in a good condition.
Even nicer than the gym definitely is the pool area. The pool itself is very big, has a good temperature and is really great for swimming laps.
The jacuzzi area is a real treat, too. It’s not only spacious, but offers various different options to relax – I’d say that’s quite incredible for a DoubleTree.
In addition, there’s a sauna as well as a steam bath. All around great offerings!
If the DoubleTree Cracow wouldn’t be located a little outside town (you can easily reach it by tram), I’d highly recommend this hotel for stays of any kind. With the mediocre location in mind, I’d still recommend the property thanks to the modern and nice rooms, a decent executive lounge as well as a great pool. Especially as the price level is quite fair for Cracow, you can’t go wrong with the DoubleTree in my opinion!
