The Air Seychelles Lounge Mahé is a nice place to spend your time before departure from paradies. The lounge offers comfortable seating with a view. In this extensive lounge review we’re explaing what you can expect of visiting the Air Seychelles Lounge!
Before leaving our litte paradies in the Ethiopian Airlines Business Class, we had the chance to try the Air Seychelles Lounge Mahé. It’s never easy to leave a paradise like the Seychelles, especially after having stayed at an amazing resort like the Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort. However, the only lounge offered at the airport makes parting a little easier as it’s actually quite nice for a lounge at such a remote place without any business traffic.
Access is granted for everybody flying business class or holding a relevant status with the airline the person is flying with.
As you’d expect, the Air Seychelles Lounge Mahé isn’t particularly big. It’s basically just one large room with several seating options.
In the middle of the lounge, you can find various colorful armchairs arranged around small round coffee tables. Generally, the design of the lounge is very casual with lots of colors and a focus on relaxed seating. Further in the back of the lounge, you can find a couple of couches as well as a few different armchairs.
Right by the buffet, there are a few dining tables with two or four seats each.
It’s worth noting that the lounge is quite bright and one side even offers brilliant views of the tarmac and the sea in the background.
In general, the Air Seychelles Lounge Mahé offers nice seating arrangements and wasn’t any crowded when we visited, making it a nice place to spend your time before departure.
The food and drink options at the Air Seychelles Lounge Mahé aren’t great, but okay for a destination like the Seychelles. There are four different hot options, which were okay, but more of a snack than a proper meal.
Then there were a couple of finger sandwiches, wraps and other cold snacks like a cheese board.
In addition, you can help yourself to crackers, snacks etc. The drink selection is quite nice with various different spirts, beer, wine as well as the typical juices, soft drinks and so on.
All in all, the buffet definitely doesn’t replace a real meal, but it’s good enough to grab a snack before departure.
The entertainment options in the Air Seychelles Lounge Mahé are rather limited. Near reception, there’s a limited display of newspapers and magazines, but the international selection isn’t great. While there’s no business center, there are at least a few televisions showing news channels throughout the lounge – luckily on mute.
In addition, there’s free WiFi throughout the lounge and it works fairly well. All in all, the entertainment options are okay for a destination like the Seychelles, but not great compared to other lounges.
The Air Seychelles Lounge Mahé is a decent enough lounge for a departure from the Seychelles. It’s not an amazing lounge, but it offers all you need from nice seating, nice views to an okay buffet. Entertainment is limited, but that’s not too much of a problem in my opinion. All in all, I wouldn’t mind spending an hour or so in the lounge again.
