The Costa del Sol Wyndham Lima Airport is the only hotel directly connected to the airport terminal. In this extensive review, I’ll explain why the hotel is overpriced, but an okay option anyways.
If you are looking for an airport hotel in Lima, the Costa del Sol Wyndham pops out as the first option. That’s no surprise given that the hotel is located right opposite of the terminal, making it a perfectly accessible hotel for late arrival or early departures, of which there are many in Lima. That’s also the reason why I chose to stay here. Yet, the experience was somewhat average.
As I had an early departure the next morning, I just booked a Standard Room for my stay at the Costa del Sol Wyndham Airport. The Queen Room had a decent enough size and did look reasonably fine.
The bed wasn’t really comfortable, but it was okay for a couple of hours sleep. The rooms were a tad noisy, but more from the hallway than from outside. It wasn’t a deal-breaker though.
What surprised me a bit is the lack of furniture in the room, which looked really empty. The only other noteworthy piece of furniture is a working desk, which comes with a proper turning chair, which I appreciated.
Other than that, there’s only a wardrobe and no chair or something, which is really odd. The views of the parking lot are nothing to talk about.
The bathroom is the most disappointing aspect of the rooms at the Costa del Sol Lima Airport Hotel as they are really tiny.
There’s only a shower-tub combo with a shower curtain, a toilet and a sink with some storage space.
All in all, I’d say that the rooms are alright for an airport hotel, but they are far from amazing.
Breakfast at the Wyndham Lima Airport starts at 4 am, which is something I really like about the hotel. The breakfast spread wasn’t great though. There were a few fruits, breads, pastries and mueslis.
Then there were very limited hot options like scrambled eggs as well as various smoothies, juices etc.
In addition, the buffet had some cold cuts, but those didn’t look really great. There wasn’t any service to speak off, so I wouldn’t expect too much of breakfast at this property.
With not too many options around (the airport is the only alternative), I ended up ordering room service in the evening. The pizza I ordered was on the tiny side, but tasted decent.
Once again, the hotel didn’t underdeliver, but didn’t amaze me by any stretch as the room service menu is quite limited, in my opinion.
Oddly, the Costa del Sol Hotel at Lima Airport doesn’t offer a gym, but a pool, a jacuzzi and a sauna. The pool is tiny, so not really useful when it comes to swimming laps. It’s surrounded by a few loungers though.
The other areas are located right next to the pool. There’s a nice enough jacuzzi and a spacious sauna.
While the offerings per se are nice, the whole area lacked atmosphere and thus didn’t really feel all that relaxing.
There’s nothing really bad to say about the airport hotel in Lima. The property comes with spacious, relatively modern rooms, a spa area with a pool and a sauna as well as a breakfast served starting at 4 am. Last but not least, the location is unbeatable. If it wouldn’t be for that, the price tag would be just way too high as the hotel is okay in all regards, but didn’t excite me a little bit.
