The Conrad Centennial Singapore is a famous luxury hotel in the Asian metropolis. The property was recently renovated and is a great choice for a stay in Singapore, in my opinon. In this extensive hotel review, I’ll explain what makes staying at the Conrad Centennial.
Singapore is a really interesting market for luxury hotels. Basically all major chains have properties here and try to compete for business and leisure guests. I’ve stayed at the InterContinental Singapore before and liked the experience, but the Conrad, located a little closer to the Marina Bay, made an ever better impression me.
In this review I’ll get you an idea why staying here is well worth it, especially when you are a Hilton Gold or Diamond member.
Even though I had only booked a Standard Room, I was upgraded to an Executive Room thanks to my Hilton Diamond Status. As all rooms at the property, the Executive Rooms are renovated.
This is something absolutely worth noting as the renovations were done amazingly, in my opinion.
The rooms feature a large window front, facing either town or the bay. Sadly, the bay views are a little bit obstructed.
Let’s get back to the actual room at the Conrad Singapore. The centerpiece is a spacious King Bed with two nightstands.
Then opposite of that, there’s a long bench stretching along the window front.
On the side there’s not only a large flat-screen television (tough to use from bed due to the angle), but also a desk with a chair. Yet, you can also sit on the bench if you prefer that.
There’s also an impressive amount of office stuff available in a drawer.
Yet, the real highlight of the room is the design in my opinion. Just how beautiful is that room?
In the enterance area, there’s not only wardrobe space, but also a minibar and a complimentary Nespresso coffee machine.
The bathroom is as amazing as the room itself.
It features a double sink fitted in lots of marble with various amenities.
Then there’s a big and very cozy looking bathtub with a small television.
Furthermore, there’s a large walk-in shower with two shower heads and a great shower pressure.
There’s also a toilet, which to my surprise, isn’t separated from the main bathroom, which might be the only downside of the rooms at the Conrad Centennnial Singapore.
Other than that, I totally loved the room. Not that it’s partcularly spacious, but the design is just really great.
Speaking of beautiful, the Executive Lounge of the Conrad Centennial Singapore on the highest floor, number 31, is a real highlight, too. While it’s small, it’s renovated and cozy.
Plus, there are even nicer views of the bay and town, so it’s just a great place to hang out at.
There are also various food options during the day, starting with breakfast. There’s a buffet with the usual continental options, including very cold cuts, cheeses, bakery goods and many more.
You can also get a few hot Asian and Western dishes on the buffet.
In addition, hot options like omelettes can be ordered at a live-cooking station on the buffet, which you don’t see that often in a lounge.
The afternoon tea selection of the Executive Lounge at the Conrad Singapore is quite nice, too. There are a couple of different kinds of sandwiches.
Then there are frehsly baked scones as well as a few cakes and cut fruits.
Last but not least, there’s a decent evening spread, which has several salads, cold cuts, salmon and a few other small appetizers.
There are also limited hot options, which were pretty similiar to what was served in the lounge of the Conrad Hong Kong.
The real highlight of the evening spread definitely is the cheese board, which is great.
The selection of alcoholic beverages isn’t bad either.
All in all, I’d say that the Conrad Centennial Singapore offers a really nice lounge, which might not be on the level of the Conrad Macao when it comes to the food spread, but is all around a great place to hang out.
During my stay I also had the chance to check out the breakfast served in the main restaurant, which I thought was really good. There’s a massive buffet with dozens of different options. First of all, there are various hot dishes from all possible cuisines.
Then there are a couple of live cooking stations for eggs, noodle soups and so on.
You can also find a great selection of fruits, salad and much more – all fresh and tasty.
Furthermore, there’s a bakery selection, cold cuts, cheeses and so much more.
While I thought that the restaurant as such is a bit too busy to make up for a really enjoyable breakfast, I thought the breakfast spread was great and better than for example at the Conrad Bangkok.
It’s worth noting that at the time this review is realeased, the hotel has already opened its new and fully functional gym, which was still under construction during my visit. Thus, there was just a temporary gym, which wasn’t great.
The pool, however, fully operational already, was a great place to hang out and swim a few laps.
There are several cabanas and loungers around, making is a nice outdoor space to enjoy.
Obviously, there’s also a Spa at the Continental Singapore, but it’s quite expensive.
Consider me a fan of the Conrad Centennial Singapore, which is on the same level as some of my favorite hotels city hotels in Asia like the Conrad Manila. The renovated rooms are just beuatiful in every possible regard, the lounge is another highlight and the pool is a nice space to hang out as well. There’s not really anything negative to say about staying at the newly renovated Conrad Singapore, so I can fully recommend staying here when visiting Singapore!
