The Radisson Collection Hotel Old Mill Belgrade is one of the first properties under the new brand. It’s a unique hotel with charm and a graet value for the money. Check out this review to see what you can expect of staying here!
If there’s a downside of the Radisson Collection Hotel Old Mill Belgrade it’s undoubtfully the location.
The hotel has a decent location for those coming from the airport as it’s right by the highway and also just a short ride to New Belgrade, but the Old Town and the more charming areas of the city are further away and also require a car transfer.
Thus, I wouldn’t really recommend the Radisson Old Mill Belgrade if you plan on doing some sightseeing in Belgrade.
Thanks to my Radisson Gold Status I was ugpraded to an Executive Room at the Radisson Collection Hotel Belgrade. This rooms are located in the historic wing of the hotel, which has been fully refurbished.
The whole layout of the room really made a good impression on me as it felt unique, spacious and very comfortable at the same time.
In the middle of the room, there’s a comfortable King Bed with a nightstand on each side. It was fitted with nice sheets and an incredible six pillows.
In the back corner of the room, there’s a large corner sofa, which I thought was quite special.
Right next to the sofa, there’s a desk with a comfortable enough working chair.
As you’d expect, the flat-screen television is located opposite of the bed, while the wardrobe and entrance area are located on the other side of the long room, which has several windows.
The interesting layout continued in the bathroom, which also has a large window and thus feels very bright as well (privacy can be an issue though).
There’s a nice sink with lots of storage as well a toilet in a separate room.
The shower is amazing as well with a nice wooden floor, a really good shower pressure and a good rain shower head.
Even the toiletries, provided by Molton Brown, are worth mentioning.
The only downside of the Executive Rooms might be the lack of views as the historic building is a low-rise. Nevertheless, I really loved the room as it was so unique and special, somewhat remining me of hotels like the Hotel Royal Lyon or the Grand Hotel La Cloche Dijon.
Interestingly, the Radisson Collection Hotel Old Mill Belgrade also comes with an Executive Lounge, which is located in the historic wing.
It’s a two-floor space with a large conference room and some seating in the upper floor, but most seating on the lower one.
The buffet is a rather weird affair though as there are no real meal times or anything. Instead, there are basic drink offerings and some light snacks all day.
Not the best lounge ever, but a nice space to hang out and have a drink at anytime of the day!
While I wouldn’t say that breakfast at the Radisson Collection Hotel Old Mill Belgrade was disappointing, it was one the weaker spots of my experience. There’s a decent buffet with several cold and hot options, but it was less good than at the Hilton Belgrade.
You can also order freshly prepared omelets and a few other dishes, but even those weren’t particularly amazing, while still decent.
There’s nothing to really point at to say why I didn’t love breakfast at the Radisson Collection Hotel Belgrade, but it just didn’t wow me.
The same isn’t true for dinner, which is served in the same restaurant. We went there one evening and sampled a few dishes, which were surpsingly expensive for Belgrade. The reason for that is the somewhat exclusive approach of the restaurant, which doesn’t servce typical hotel staples, but rather special dishes.
Personally, I must say that the two dishes I sampled were really amazing and I loved how tender the prok was, for example. If you are looking for a really nice dinner, you won’t be disappointed at the Radisson Old Mill Belgrade, but it definitely isn’t cheap for Belgrade.
While the hotel has no pool, there’s at least a small recreation area at the Radisson Collection Hotel Old Mill Belgrade. The gym isn’t small, but there is not all that much equipment in the room.
While you can also go for a basic strength work out, the focus definitely is on cardio equipment.
The other area of the recreation area involves a steam bath and a sauna as well as a couple of comfortable loungers and sofas, which are great for relaxing.
All in all, the Radisson Hotel Belgrade isn’t a shining start in the recreation area, but the offerings are fair enough, in my opinion.
The Radisson Collection Hotel Old Mill Belgrade left a lasting impression on me. I’ve been to a couple of Radisson hotels, with the best experiences being my stays at the Radisson Blu Port Elizabeth and the Radisson Blu Chisinau, but the property in Belgrade was by far the most unique and alongside the property in Chisinau also best I’ve stayed at. If you can live with the somewhat bad location, I’d highly recommend staying at this property when visiting Belgrade!
