The LOT regional Business Class offers a surprisingly comfortable experience on flights within in Europa. In this extensive review, we’re explaining what you can expect when flying LOT!
Over the last couple of years, LOT expanded its operations quite a bit. Only a decade back, the airline had an oldish fleet and mainly served destinations in Europe. Now, LOT offers various long haul flights with a modern Boeing 787 fleet. However, the regional flight experience isn’t much worse, particularly in Business Class. After I have already tested the LOT long haul Business Class, I also gave the regional Business Class a try. This is what you can expect of the experience!
The seating arrangements in the LOT regional Business Class depend on the aircraft type as the Boeing 737 comes with 3-3 seating, while the Embraer 190 aircraft come with a 2-2 arrangement. I flew with the bigger aircraft, but still ended up having a full row to myself.
The cabin looks pretty stylish in my opinion and it immediately catches the eye that LOT has the new sky interior in its newer Boeing 737 aircraft. The seats offer a good comfort as well despite not having all that much padding.
As it is the norm for Business Class within Europe, the seats as such don’t differ from Economy Class, but only come with a different color scheme.
The main difference is the seat pitch, which is more generous in the first rows. Plus, you are guaranteed to a free seat next to year when flying in LOT Business Class.
As usual, the seats come with little storage, but you can fit a 13-inch laptop as well as a magazine without issue. There’s also a relatively stable table (less so in the first row), which is large enough to propertly work on.
What surprised me pretty positively in the LOT regional Business Class are the catering offerings. Even before departure, I was offered a drink of my choice alongside a pre-packaged refreshment towel.
Once having reached cruising altitude, another round of drinks along with a package of nuts was offered.
Moments later, breakfast was served. Particularly the presentation is very appealing.
While a rather small portion (the flight from Munich to Warsaw isn’t crazy long), I really enjoyed the cold selection alongside the very good bread roll.
The salmon was superb and the cheese was tasty as well.
I honestly very much prefer food like this to some hot meal that tastes like it was microwaved before. Thus, I’d consider the LOT regional Business Class catering to be pretty good, plus the presentation is much superior to for example the KLM regional Business Class.
The weakest point of the experience with LOT is the entertainment. There is neither Wi-Fi offered nor any kind of streaming service. Furthermore, there are no entertainment screens and not even magazines or newspapers in Business Class. Thus, the only form of entertainment is the board magazine. While not a deal breakfast, other airlines are a bit more advanced in that regard.
The LOT regional Business Class offers a wonderful experience for shorter flights within Europe. The seats are totally fine, the seat pitch is decent and service is quite good. Particularly the catering stands out, while the entertainment is the weak spot. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t hesitate to book the LOT regional Business Class again even though I rather not pay the price different to Economy Class when not booking the flight in combination with a long haul flight or with miles.
