The Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong is a modern luxury hotel, belonging the MGallery Collection by Accorhotels. In this review, we’ll show what you can expect of staying at the property!
Finding a luxury hotel on Phuket is really not that difficult as the island comes with dozens of five star properties, catering for all kinds of holiday dreams.
The Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong differs a bit from the majority of properties as it is not located by the beach, but instead in the mountains.
The property focuses on relaxation in a set-back atmosphere as well as unique design and follows a pretty similar approach like the Renaissance Bali Uluwatu, which I very much enjoyed as well. Yet, you shouldn’t expect a beach resort, even though the beaches of Patong aren’t far away and you can also enjoy a sea view from one or another spot in the resort.
My whole check-in experience at the Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong was pretty good, so I was not surprised to find a cute little welcome gift in my room.
Furthermore, my mid-tier Accor ALL Gold Status brought me a great upgrade to a so-called Jacuzzi Suite.
While the name sounds fancy, I wouldn’t call this room a suite, despite it being chic and offering more than enough space for just me.
After a long entryway, the room itself is dominated by a comfortable bed located right in the middle of the space.
Right behind bed, there’s a spacious working desk with a chair.
Interestingly, the entryway has some kind of mini-kitchen, including a microwave, but no coffee machine.
The rest of the room consists of the stylish bathroom, which is dominated by dark colors.
While there is just a single sink, the storage space is sufficient for two travellers as well.
One of the highlights of the bathroom at the Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong sure is the free-standing bathtub.
There’s also a walk-in shower offering a decent water pressure. The toilet is separated by a glass shield, but isn’t fully private.
You may wonder what actually makes the room a Jacuzzi Suite, but I purposely left the best for the end.
The terrace of the room not only comes with some seating and nice views of the greenery, but also a huge jacuzzi – really nice!
Overall, I’d consider the rooms at the Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong to be pretty nicely designed, even though I don’t agree with how they are named suites. Nevertheless, I’d consider the rooms to be luxurious enough for the price point, even though they might not be as unique as in other MGallery Hotels like the Hotel Molitor Paris or the Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta.
In the morning, I had the chance to try breakfast at the Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong and the spread is as good as you would expect at an Asian holiday property.
There are plenty of different hot options, including local specialties as well as classic Western dishes.
Furthermore, there is a really nice bar with different kinds of salads.
The choice of freshly cut fruits is pretty good as well.
While available, the selection of cold cuts and cheeses isn’t exactly phenomenal, but that’s to be expected in Asia.
You may also order freshly prepared omelets at the buffet and I thought that the quality was pretty good as well.
While the breakfast at the Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong might have not been as amazing as at The Legian Bali or the Conrad Bangkok, I’d still consider it to be pretty good.
While I didn’t have a lot of time to enjoy the cuisine at the Avista Hideaway Phuket, I at least tried a little snack by the pool once. The spring rolls and the iced coffee were pretty good.
I also had a little sampling platter in the evening, which I thought was pretty decent as well.
With these limited impressions, I don’t want to fully make up my mind about the experience, but I’d definitely say that my first impressions of the cuisine were pretty good.
Being a holiday property, the Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong offers plenty of options to invest in your wellbeing. Let’s start with the pools, of which there is a total of three, all in a way unique.
For example, one of the pools is great for swimming laps, while enjoying views of the ocean in the distance. Here, you can also find most lounging spots around any of the pools.
My favorite though is the adults only pool, which is embedded into nature very well and feels incredibly relaxing, in my opinion.
You may also enjoy the hotel’s spa, offering plenty of different treatments. Furthermore, there is also a games room, which sadly is pretty dark and not particularly inviting for a luxury resort.
Last but not least, I quickly wanted to mention the gym, which sadly disappointed me as well.
It’s rather small and doesn’t offer all that many machines. There is also no views to speak of. I also think that’s pretty sad for a resort, but thinking of the Conrad Bali for example, also no exception.
When looking for a holiday resort in Phuket, the Avista Hideaway Phuket Patong should be on your list. The property offers modern accommodation, a relaxing feel and plenty of nice pools to enjoy. What I tried in terms of food & beverage was pretty good as well and service was friendly and professional. If a beach resort is no must for you, the Avista Hideaway definitely offers a good value for the money!
